Chapter 16 by Gabidy Gabidy

What's up next?

Gunna surprises you at your apartment

(This chapter originally by "MightyHalberd")

A week later, you were busy rocking along to the Aggressive Number of Eye Sockets song stuck in your head as you worked the delicate wiring of a command console. "My heart is exploding, send napalm down the wire," you mumble-sang under your breath. "Baby hear this flesh ring, my soul is o- FUCK!"

You jerk your hand free as a shock travels up your arm, promptly smacking your head on the metal paneling overhead. Stars popping in front of your eyes, you extract yourself out of the console's innards as a gurgling sound came from the console next to yours. Clutching your temples, you watch as a light red goop seeps from inside the machine, pooling on the floor and shaping itself into a vaguely humanoid figure.

"<Hey man, you okay?>" Oork asks, signalling to you with slime-sign language.

"Console rung my bell, but I'm fine," you reply along with your own hand signals before taking your gloves off to check for damage. "Insulation on these gloves suck, but I can't work any of the wires otherwise."

"<I can handle that, if you'd like.>" Oork signals. "<I'm ...... >" You look at the last signal in confusion, and your amorphous teammate tries something different. "<Electricity does not hurt.>"

"Oh, you're 'insulated'?" you ask, repeating the first gesture you didn't recognize. Oork makes a gurgling sound that seems happy as he repeats it back. "Yeah if you want to take care of the wiring I can do the heavy stuff."

Your coworker nods, sticking himself head-first into the console you were working on and oozing his way inside. Still a little squicky honestly, but you were getting used to it. Bringing out your toolkit, you got to work finishing the repairs on the consoles, Oork squirming around inside to reattach the new wires and inner bits while you replaced the buttons and screens. A half hour of work later and you switched the consoles on, watching proudly as the keys responded to your commands again.

"Mission accomplished!" you declare, glancing at the time on your datapad. "And it's only half past six. Want to clock out early and catch the hypersky game?" Oork responded by forming a thumbs-up and the two of you began cleaning up, fueled by the thought of an enjoyable evening. Summoning the elevator, you chatted lightly with Oork about the Saturnalia Smashers lineup and the team's prospects for the Universal Series until the door slid open.

"Aha, Mikey! There you are!" You recognized the younger shark sister Gunna for one brief moment before she suddenly yanked you into the elevator by the collar, pushing the button to close the doors on a somewhat concerned Oork before he could intervene.

"Ach, what the-?" You flail around briefly before she lets you go.

"Sorry, sorry, I'm a bit anxious," Gunna says, wringing her hands as she rotated her left foot on the ball of her heel. "Just need to talk to you about something. Something kind of important."

"Uh, well maybe not here then, it's a bit..."

"Claustrophobic?"

"...somewhat, yeah." You're glad you didn't have to say it, honestly. Stuck in this cramped elevator together, it was very clear that the berries were working their magic on Garwa's sister just as much as Garwa herself. Like Garwa, at this angle you could see the flabby gut she sported, her containment suit hugging every soft roll, and while her rear and hips were not nearly as bulky as her sister's, it was very difficult to keep your eyes off of the sizeable chest that blossomed on the younger shark sister and wobbled with the slightest movement. Honestly it was still hard for you to wrap your head around the idea that a few berries had caused the twiggy little xenoarcheologist to get this big over little more then a month, let alone that she might get even bigger. Either way, you weren't going to complain about it, even if daydreaming about the two slowly fattening up caused you to miss a few things, like the fact that Gunna was talking to you.

"Hey, focus!" she said sharply. "Where's your room? We need somewhere private, my quarters are too far away."

"Oh," you say meekly, punching in the coordinates. The elevator shifts direction, and you avert your eyes as the shift caused Gunna's fat figure and that hefty chest to bounce a little. You kept your thoughts pure until you escaped the cramped transport and made your way to your quarters, Gunna scurrying inside as you shut the door.

"I'm starved, you don't have a mini-fridge in here, do you?" she asked, plopping down on your bed with an uncomfortably audible creak.

"...no," you admit.

"Bummer, I got one of those for my quarters. Helps take the edge of the constant hunger." Drumming her fingers on her belly, Gunna glanced up at you. "More to the point though...I wanted to give you something."

You swallow nervously as she rooted around in her pockets. Ever since you read about Selanian mating rituals and how the younger siblings took priority in choosing mates, you'd been dreading this moment every time Garwa's little sister hugged you a little too long. Not that her sister wasn't attractive or you'd say no to being propositioned mind you, but...well...

"You're worried I'm going to give you a gift, aren't you?"

You froze up at Gunna's accusation, almost certain you could detect a smirk behind her mask. "Uh...yeah, you got me."

"I thought so," Gunna said, with the air of a great detective uncovering a shocking secret. "My sister loved those tools by the way. Could barely string a sentence together when she gushed about them to me."

"She did?" you said a little too eagerly.

"Yes, and if you've done research, then you looked so nervous about my gift because you're worried I would take you from her," Gunna concluded. You nodded sagely, and she clasps her hands together excitedly. "Then you'll want to listen to my offer, then!"

"Okay..."

"It's simple really, ten minutes after 5 PM, I need the power to go out in Bio-Lab 4." You're taken aback by this odd request, but Gunna waves you off before you can speak. "And in return, you get...this." She pulls her hand out of her pocket, and you see a black cord wrapped around her fingers, a triangular jade pendant hanging from it.

"Jewelry?" you ask incredulously.

"Something that'll solve both our problems. A little silly in my opinion, but Garwa was always a little more traditional then me."

You're a little lost here, not sure if this is a genuine offer or some sort of weird flirting method traditional to Selanians. Normally you had no reason to trust Gunna, but that article you read said a lot about how females would get competitive over mates, and something nagged at the back of your mind about how this could be some sort of test, or a trap. And such a weird test too; you could easily have disabled the power to Bio-Lab 4, and knowing what was in there, no lasting damage would occur so long as the science team in charge took care of things. And the reward for that task? A weird necklace. Something definitely smelt fishy here...were you going to go along with this?

Well, were you?
