Growing family

Though there’s now a third baby, things around the castle don’t change much this time. The main difference is that Anna spends less time doing the job of the castle staff! You haven’t seen her this happy since the first days of your relationship.

Iris, meanwhile, is getting a little nervous. As much as she understands that you can’t leave yet, she worries about those left behind. Every day she remains home is another day for the vampire queen to search for her. However, the relative ease with which you dealt with Marcus seems to show her that you’re the one to trust.

As for Lynn, she seems ready to be done with her pregnancy. As happy as she is to be carrying your child, she’s ready to meet them and go back to somewhat normal life. She and Yura spend a lot of time together, talking quietly about the future, sharing smiles.

One day, shortly after the birth of Nicholas, Sadie approaches you. “Hey Joshie! I have a request. I know you’re heading out right after Lynn gives birth, and you have a plan already, but…I wanna come with!”

You look at her curiously. “Why’s that? I shouldn’t be gone very long, and I don’t think it will be very exciting.”

Sadie nods. “I know, but…do you remember when I told you about the goddess of wind, back when we taught you about the gods? She lived in that area! I wanna see if she’s still ok! I am a djinn after all…”

You nod. “That makes some sense. What if she isn’t?”

Sadie shrugs. “I’d be sad, I liked her! She was almost as fun as me! I missed her when I came to the new world. Besides, I can help if some of the undead get mean!”

You chuckle. “You mean you don’t want Uzume to have all the fun if there’s a fight.”

Sadie giggles. “That too!”

You roll your eyes. “Fine, we’ll bring you too. But remember, we want to get through this with as little conflict as possible. It seems like most of the undead are friendly.”

Sadie looks at you and laughs. “You’re a little biased, Joshie! You’ve been having sex with a banshee!”

You chuckle. “You sound jealous, Sadie.”

Sadie grins, nodding.
