Grandma

Your mother continues "You know your grandmother loves you so much and is a very nice Matriach. Surreee, she has some eccentricities, but I'm sure you'll grow to enjoy them in no time at all, just like your cousin."

You look toward your mother in surprise, "Wait what?! What happened to Alex??"

Your mother bit down on her finger, thinking of the best way to respond to your question. She says, "Well.. See your cousin has been living with your grandma for the past nine months now, ever since his own 18th birthday."

You say, "Umm okay.. Did something happen? What were you talking about before?"

Your mother answers, "Honey it's fine, your grandmother just has a fondness for Alex and so eventually she asked your Aunt Patty if he could move in with her to help her around the house. I'm sure she'll love you just as much." Your mother lovingly places her hand on your cheek as she says that last part.

You're still quite nervous and ask "Wait, does that mean I have to move in with her too??"

Your mother says, "Of course not honey, at least not anytime soon. For now, just think of today as a normal trip to visit grandma."
