Chapter 28 by GreenBean GreenBean

Should she stay or should she go now

Grab the jacket, check for anything else of use, and go.

Jessica decided to let the old man be. He was probably exhausted and she had worked her reward. Trying to stay quiet she put on the hunter's jacket. Throwing her gaze over her shoulder, making sure to check the mirror, the old man was up to something around the corner, and not paying attention to her. And the door was right there. She hazarded opening a nearby chest, peeking in quickly, her eyes growing wide even as the chest squeaked loudly.
"What are you doing back there?" the man growled loudly, his wheelchair creaking as he tried to turn quickly. But Jessica was out the door with her prize before the man could face her, punctuated by a loud cry and cursing inside.
Jessica hugged her prize. Pants. Genuine pants. She rounded the corner before dressing again. Sliding them on she felt fully dress again. She had to roll up the pant legs to fit well, and once she buttoned the jacket up it covered most her face. She slipped her hand into the pocket and was surprised to find a cap in there. Putting it on, she practically looked a hunter, if hunters came as small and unarmed as she did. Grinning in her small victory, Jessica still a couple streets from home. She wasn't certain, but if she kept on this path, she would eventually be on the street that led to her alley. And she was still incredibly sore and she wasn't sure she could run if she needed to again after her performance, and the night was only growing darker.

Whats her strategy?
