Grab it

You grab the gun. You don’t need to know all the details to know that waving guns and shooting people is bad!

Olivia turns the pistol on you and pulls the trigger, but there’s just a click.

You still freeze. You can’t believe she just did that. Luckily, she looks as surprised as you are feeling.

Her eyes are wide and shocked as rainwater streams down her face.

The detective lunges in and wrenches the pistol away, giving Olivia a punch that knocks her flat. The detective chambers the gun and points it down at Olivia, looking suspiciously at you.

“Whoa,” you say.

“Right,” Kylie agrees as you stare at this bizarre scene.

“You aren’t with her, are you?” the detective asks, looking ragged.

“With her?” you repeat, blinking and looking at Kylie. No, if Olivia is with anyone, it’s probably Amy. She and Kylie have fooled around a bit. You remember Kylie bragging to you about getting her hands on Olivia’s rear when they sixty-nined or something. Or maybe that was someone else.

“Dude,” you say. “Olivia, what the fuck?”

“Are you guys high?” the detective says irritably, glancing over at you.

“Look out!” Kylie yelps. You twist around to see Olivia surge up off the ground, raising a kitchen knife!
