Good Morning!

It was only upon waking up the next day that you remembered you had left the books you wanted to check out at the library. Who could blame you? With the librarian pulling you outside and professing her undying love to you, you had been a bit distracted.

Being Sunday, the second day of your Spring Break, the library would be closed, so there would be no point in going to retrieve them. Maybe you could ask Jasmine if she could get them. If you had to put money on it, you'd bet she would. In fact, you would be she'd do just about anything you'd ask of her.

How had a woman like her fallen for a guy like you, anyway? You were barely an adult, a first-year university student. You hadn't even declared a major yet! As far as you could tell, the only thing you had in common was that you liked to go to the library, while she worked at the library. Not exactly the foundation of a strong and lasting relationship.

Then again, something told you that if you wanted it to work, Jasmine would make it work. The way she had looked at you, the way she had hung on every word, every inflection, as if you were a prophet revealing her future.

Climbing out of bed, you had already begun to wonder if the whole thing was some sort of prank. Had one of your friends paid Jasmine off to pull a fast one on you? No. There's no way the librarian would have gone for that kind of thing. And what would be the point of it being a prank? Nobody had jumped out of the bushes and shouted surprise or anything.

Maybe it was mental illness. That seemed more likely. Jasmine was making quite the leap, abandoning her sexual orientation to be completely besmitten by you, a man. Was there a number you needed to call? Should you maybe reach out to her wife? How would you reach her, anyway?

You poked your head into the hallway and listened. Nobody was in the shower. Quickly, before your fate changes, you grab the clothes you want to wear and pad down the hallway, the soft carpet on your bare feet. You had also grabbed your phone. Might as well reach out to her, make sure she was okay. What if you were right and she was in some sort of psychotic break. Your text might just save her life.

Morning - how are you doing today?

There. Sent. Simple, to the point. If she texted back something about dragons and unicorns, then you'd be certain. You put your phone down on the counter, disrobed, and stepped into the hot shower. Instantly all your apprehensions vanished, washed down the drain. You could worry about Jasmine when you were done. It was an almost meditative experience, all worries gone, only the task of getting clean remained. So what if a beautiful lesbian ten years your senior wanted nothing more than to be your girlfriend, you had water and soap. That was farm more important.

But, alas, no shower lasts forever. All too soon you turned the water off and grabbed your towel. Curious, you picked up your phone and check for responses. There was just one.

Okay. It was real. You toweled off, brushed your teeth, and dressed for the day. You had a date tonight. No details on it yet, but whatever Jasmine had planned, you were guessing she would go all out. And if yesterday's goodnight kiss had been any indication, you guessed that Jasmine's 'all out' would take it pretty far.
