Gone missing

"Mandy. Wake up, Mandy."

"Ugh. What is it, Tiff?" Mandy mumbled, half asleep.

"The stadium's been breached, Mandy -- we've got vampires in the building," Tiffany explained. "And Kay's gone missing..."

Mandy sat up, sighing. "Shit! Not again... Where's Supergirl?"

"We... we encountered a group of vampires. She told me to run... she bought me some time," Tiffany explained, her voice quivering.

"...OK... well, I'm sure she's OK. She *is* Supergirl, after all... what about Aisha?"

Tiffany took a deep breath before continuing. "She said she was heading to the security room -- she wanted to see how many were out there, and if Supergirl's still alive. Said she'd radio me when she got there."

"OK, that's good to hear. I'm going to grab the guns -- you wake everyone else up," Mandy said.

Tiffany nodded and went to alert her teammates, while Mandy armed herself and checked the radio. "Aisha? You there?"

"This is Aisha. I made it to the security room," Aisha answered to Mandy's relief. "I take it Tiff filled you in on the situation?"

"She did. glad you're OK," Mandy replied. "How bad is it? How many vampires are we dealing with here?"

"Looking at the cameras here, I'd somewhere between twenty and twenty-five," Aisha answered. "The good news is that I'm pretty sure all of 'em are feral -- I don't think we're dealing with the more intelligent ones."

"That's a small relief... it's a manageable number if we play this right. We might not have to abandon this place yet... I just hope Supergirl's not having any problems dealing with them."

"No problems whatsoever," Kara answered as she walked into the room -- the tears on her outfit signaled that she had been in a tussle with the vampires, but she didn't look any worse for wear. "Those things are strong, but nothing I can't handle. Oh, and they're really not that smart."

Mandy turned to Kara and nodded in acknowledgment. "I had a feeling you'd be fine, Supergirl. Glad to see I was right. You wouldn't happen to know what happened to Kay, would you?"

Kara let out a worried sigh. "After telling Tiff to come here, I found Kay cornered by a few bloodsuckers. We got into a scrap, and I took my eye off of her for a split second, and the next thing I know, she's gone. They're fast, Mandy... they might not be smart, but they're fast."

"Shit... they got Kay..." Mandy lamented as the rest of the group gathered around her.

"Don't give up on her just yet," Kara advised. "I doubt they killed her, but if we're gonna save her, we don't have much time."

"You're right... we need to act now," Mandy agreed, handing weapons out to the rest of the group. "Aisha, stay in the security room -- we'll meet you up there and figure out our next move."

"Understood," Aisha answered over the radio. "In the meantime, stay in touch. I can keep the vampires off your tail while you make your way here... and if Kay shows up on one of these monitors, I can tell you where she is."

"Good idea," Mandy said. "Although I think with the muscle we've got now with Supergirl here, fighting these things won't be a problem."

"Best not to take the chance yet while we're looking for Kay, though," Aisha cautioned. "At any rate, we can discuss things when you get here. Good luck, everybody..."
