Going undercover

Jillian read through the file before leaving her desk. There certainly wasn't much to go on. It mostly dealt with the things Captain Warren had already discussed. As she got up, one of the other detectives approached her. "I want to wish you luck," he said as he stuck his hand out. Jillian took his hand and shook it. "Just one thing before you go. Sasha was a good officer. Please find her and get her out of there. That is if she's still alive. She was my partner."

"I'll do everything I can. I'm sure she's still alive. I'll find out for you. Any message you want me to deliver to her?"

The detective smiled at her. "Tell her Marco says hi and that I'm waiting for her."

"I'll certainly be sure tell her. I promise."

Marco smiled and patted her hand. "Well, you better get going. Thanks!"

When Jillian entered the Captain's office, she found him behind his desk with Miriam hovering over him. "Have a seat Jillian," he gestured to the chair in front of her. She took a seat and waited patiently. He picked up a file and handed it to her. "You came to us at the right time. You're perfect in every way for this operation. Abrianna is known to like redheads."

"That's one thing that works to our advantage. So I take it this file contains my undercover identity?"

"Yes," the captain answered. "From now on you will be known as Chloe Donnelly. That file contains all of your background history, birth certificate, driver's license, social security number and anything else you might need. Miriam is a wiz at making identities. We already knew you were coming, so we had it all prepared ahead of time. Any questions at this time?"

"How long has Sasha been there undercover?"

"Marco must have talked to you," he replied with a raised eyebrow. "She's been undercover for about six months now. We think she was getting close to blowing the whole thing wide open from her last check in, which was almost a month ago. I won't lie to you. This is a dangerous position we're putting you in. You have to be smart and careful. You can still back out right now if you want."

"I'm not going to back out. I have to find out what happened to Sasha as much as anything else. We can't leave someone behind like that. I'll get the evidence, and I'll get Sasha out of there if I find her. I made a promise, and I won't break it."

"Alright then," the captain breathed a heavy sigh. "From this moment on, you are to have no contact with the police department. We set you up with a place of your own. The address is in the file. So is the address of the place you can best make contact with Abrianna Castellano. It's a strip club, the Pink Panther. She owns it and hangs out there a lot. Go there looking for a job. That is if you're not too skittish about possibly working as a stripper."

"No, I'll handle it," Jillian sighed. "It's for Sasha, and for taking them out. I'll do whatever I have to do."

"I like your attitude, Everly. Just make sure you come back to us with that same attitude."

"I will, sir," she said with confidence. "I'll bring Sasha back too."
