Chapter 9 by Thunderwitch Thunderwitch

What are we doing today?

Going to a spa, then going dancing!

"I suggested going to a spa" Brenda raised her hand, like a child asking for permission. "Since moving can be stressful, I thought we could all go and have a relaxing afternoon. I know a good place downtown..."

I had never been to a spa. And, as far as I knew, neither had Sarah. I liked the fact that she included me in her plan.

"And then we'll go to a club and dance all night! What better way to relax than sweating all the stress away!" Katia said with that smug grin on her face.

I didn't dislike that idea. She didn't explicitly said I would go, but I just assumed it. This felt weird, in a good way, as if we were all good old friends already.

"What do you think?" Sarah asked me excitedly.

"Those actually sound very good." I admitted.

"See? I knew you weren't boring!" Katia slapped my shoulder a bit too hard, but I kept my smile to hide the pain. She was indeed strong.

"Great!" Sarah didn't mind the slap. "We have just a couple of things to do before then."

"Yeah, I'd like to go shopping for something to wear tonight." Brenda said, shrugging.

I thought she'd suggest going together, all of us. I hoped Katia would say she'd go with her, so I'd have time with Sarah, but neither of those happened.

"I'd go, maybe, but I have to work out." Katia said. "You can't keep a body like mine without training every day!"

For a moment, I thought I heard Sarah sigh, but it was Brenda, who let out one of those adorable sneezes.

"I'd hate to leave either of you alone..."

"Nah, don't worry, we're adults! We can manage!" Katia flexed her arm.

"But you are our guests!" Sarah insisted. "We can't do everything together. If we wait for Katia to work out, and then we go shopping, we won't have time to go to the spa... Maybe one of us can go with Brenda, and the other can stay home with Katia."

I really, really wanted to spend the day with my girlfriend, but I guess she was right. A little right. But I told myself it was not done with ill intend. They were just family who had thought they could spend some quality time with their cousin. It was a bad coincidence, and all I had to do was to get along with them for a couple days. Then Sarah and I would have all the time in the world.

I sighed heavily and nodded. I looked at them. Sarah had puppy eyes, begging me to accept. Brenda had a shy expression, I'm sure she was ashamed to split us for the day. Katia was smirking, she was definitely enjoying the situation.

"Who would you like to spend the morning with, Liam?"

I spent it with...
