Going Home

"Welcome back!"

Walt smiled and waved to Dave. "Howdy stranger! I miss much?"

Dave shook his head. "Not really. Your world is all set up to go home with you. That limits your ability to abuse the time functionality a bit though."

Walt nodded. "That's fine. I think I got everything set-up the way I need to. If I have to I'll find my own in universe work arounds." He gestured to the ladies. "Jubes, Gwen and Jen. This is my old friend, Dave."

Dave smiled and shook each of their hands. "Ladies it's a pleasure to meet you! I'll introduce you to my Harley this weekend. We're looking forward to getting to know you all better. Please take good care of Walter. It's so nice to know he's not completely hopeless!"

The girls laugh while Walt rolls his eyes. "First Chuck, then Rog and Hoofer and now you! Nice to see what my friends really think!" He shakes his head though and winks. "We'll see you tomorrow after work, bud! Go home and get packed."

"It was nice meeting you," Jen said followed by Jubilee and Gwen adding. "We promise! We'll take "good care" of Walt!" Shogo babbles excitedly.

Walt collects the device for accessing his Marvel multiverse and waves. "See you soon." He turns to his new family members. "Let's go home."

"Is this it?"

Walt laughed shaking his head at Jens reaction. "Yes and no. This is just the base." He pointed at the mountain. "That's home. We need to set up the portal real quick so my personnel can start accessing into your home world. I want to hit the ground running on making some of those changes! Orchis and some other folks ain't going to know what hits them tomorrow."

The girls stare at all of the activity as well as the odd collection of characters. Many are obviously military types but there are also a lot that obviously aren't including-"Oh my god... you have Bruce?!"

Walt blinked then smiled and waved at Bruce Banner and Bulma who waved back. "Not 'your' Bruce Banner but yeah. Since yours is on hiatus we can use ours to fill in and pinch hit for our team. That's one of our, Bulmas, science specialists... apparently they recently started dating or something."

Jen stares. "She's a Prime?"

Walt laughs. "Not at all! She's a character from a different franchise. She's one of the first characters the company bought actually. Been here forever. She and Bruce have worked together off and on for ages and I guess something just clicked. I hope it works out for them. Mosey on over and say, "howdy" if you'd like. They're good folks. It'll take me a bit to set all this up."

He stops the vehicle and watches them go do just that. Jen, almost shyly, 'introducing' herself to her cousin. Bruce smiling anyway and hugging her warmly and introducing Bulma. Gwen, Jubilee and Shogo posing for Hulk pics with a very accommodating Bruce. Even one where he played dead pretending to be defeated by Shogo. Bruce was a ham.

"He's having fun," Steve Rogers said stepping forward.

Walt nodded. "Yeah... thanks for going with him. Tony needs to stay 'off the radar' on this one if he does go and honestly it's not worth the trouble. Your and Bruce's doubles are elsewhere so it should be safe but stay on your toes. I need Barton and Romanov here but I'm sending other similar specialists to help. And-"

Steve laughs. "You want to remind me to brush my teeth? Leave the empty bottles for the milk man to pick-up in the morning? Make sure I turn the lights off before going to bed?"

Walt chuckled too but tossed him some faniliar keys. "Point taken... and you know very well the milk man doesn't make home deliveries of glass bottles if fresh milk every morning anymore! You cam use those but don't mess with the radio and the seat in "my" van and bike," he winked. "I just got 'em the way I like 'em."

Steven stares. "'My' Battle Van and Bike?... that's cold."

Walt laughed. "You know I'm just teasing... mostly. And it's the old war era bike not your newer toys. And they're not actually yours anyway, you goofball. Have fun!"

Steve chuckles and sketches a quick salute which Walt returns and watchs him walk away. "Quite the operation," Jack says as he and Joy walk up to join him.

Walt nods. "Yep. Personnel and supplies to establish permanent bases and covers. You'll find contacts I outlined on the other side. Stabalize the region, destabilize the opposition and protect our interests and allies as outlined. The "cleanup" has already begun and certain business and trade opportunities are ready and waiting."

Joy nodded. "Should go fairly smoothly. You've worked hard to make this a peaceful, covert transitioning of power instead of an outright conquest. Smart. Beneficial for all parties that way."

Walt smiled. "Thank you. Not my first rodeo. We'll use the carrot and the stick as need be especially in the 616 world line and make that the priority. Earth 65 and most other variants gets the 'hands off' or 'kid gloves' treatment. A few aside like the zombie one there's no need for total conquest and plunder."

'Jack' nodded. "And for ones like that we'll follow your guidelines and wait for you to do your thing."

Walt nodded. "Yes some world's like that one the Watcher's and other powers that be have actively worked hard to keep them on self terminating and contained loops. It's important not to disrupt them accidentally. Some of them have corrupting influences at the root of the problem... but I already have several of those things safely tucked away and contained, absorbed or destroyed. Kind of my area of expertise. If we safely remove or deal with them then we can lay those world's to rest and claim the spoils of a 'dead' universe. That'll offset my personal expenses and help pay for rejuvenating the rest while netting myself and 3S a not insignificant and tidy profit. Slow and careful is the key and that can come later with myself and the experts leading the way. 616 needs help now and takes the priority and we'll take the covertly cooperative approach there as well as setting up protective surveillance for 65."

They also saluted. "Yes, Boss." Walt saluted back. They'd all done this many times before after all. This time the client just so happened to be The Boss. Everyone was more fired up than usual to give an exceptional proformance.

But all that could wait for him for a bit. He watched Covergirl pull up in his truck and toss him his keys with a wink. He caught them with a grin returning the winks. It was time for the Boss to go home. He whistled to the girls.

"Seriously?" Gwen asked looking at the big but old truck while Jubilee laughed.

Jen grinned. "It's very... you."

Walt nodded chuckling. "Yep. It'll be a bit tight but we'll fit. Let's go home!"

Jen looks at the huge firce of different agents and operatives. "I get some of these are different types of specialists but can some of these other guys handle a world of supers?"

Walt chuckled. "Definitely. Never judge a book by it's cover," he waved to the teams and some of their other 'plainclothes' super agents. Leeloominaï Lekatariba-Lamina-Tchaï Ekbat de Sebat and Hajime Ichinose both excitedly waved back, Hajime making a double "V" mimicking scissors. "Welcome home, Boss!", "We got this, Boss! Gatcha!"

Jen chuckled. "I retract the question." She smiled and joined Jubilee and Gwen in waving back. Shogo babbled and Jubilee smiled. "You heard him?"

Walt smiled and nodded patting his head. "Yep. You got it partner. Home, coming up!"

Penny was excited. She could see the cloud of dust the truck was kicking up drawing nearer. "They'll be here soon!"

Neo smiled and gave her a thumbs-up. Everything was ready. They'd saved and rehung the banner from before. Rooms and the nursery were setup... though likely the ladies would be joining them in the master bedroom. It was good to be prepared though. They were already reaching maximum capacity for the huge damn bed. They'd have to work out a rotation system like they had had before... but they would make it work because they wanted too!

Ahnassi and Lifts-Her-Tail joined. "All is in readiness," Lita said with Ahnassi adding, "Walter said to keep the welcome party a bit casual since we'll likely celebrate this weekend and he has others coming, yes? Ahnassi still thinks it will be a happy gesture they will appreciate."

"We'll let everyone in the kitchen know they'll be here shortly!" Nora and Sasha jumped to their feet only for Roberta to give them a very stern look that made them pause. Pyrrha chuckled. "Actually why don't I be the one to inform them? That's probably for the best."

Neo took Penny's hand as everyone took their places. Penny smiled squeezing back. "Thank you... I am nervous. I don't know why but... We have talked with them so much but never met. Now they're all so important to Walt and us but... it is silly, is it not? To worry now?"

Neo shook her head. It wasn't silly to her. She signed, 'We love him. We love each other. He loves us.' She frowned. She wasn't sure she knew enough sign laguage to convey her thoughts yet but... she nodded remembering something Walt had said. The most important thing. 'He will always love us. He will always love you.'

Penny smiled and hugged her. Her friend. Her friend who hadn't had many friends until coming here. 'Hearing' Neo tell her that, reassure her, made her insecurities vanish. "Thank you, Neo. Thank you so much!"

"Wow," Jen said. "You weren't kidding, Cowboy... look at this place!"

Walt chuckled. "I hope yall like it... Welcome home."

Gwen nooded as they pulled up and got out of the truck, looking around at the large complex of barns, buildings and the mainhouse. "It's like something out of a movie."

"Hossies!" Shogo laughed and waved excitedly. "Mama hossies!"

Jubilee laughed and smiled. "That's right Shogo! Horses! And look... that's daddy's home... our new home!"

"Howm?" Shogo asked.

Walt smiled and nodded patting his head. "That's right, my boy. Home."

Shogo blinked. "Dah-dah?"

Walt froze. Jubilee froze. Jen and Gwen froze. They all stared. Jubilee swallowed and nodded. "That's right, Sho," she whispered seeing Walt's stunned but happy face. She handed Shogo over to Walt who carefully took him. "Your daddy... he's brought us home."

Shogo smiled and touched Walt's cheek. "Dah-dah... howm?"

Walt smiled and nodded sniffing. "That's right, son." His voice was thick. "I'm your Daddy... and this is your home... our home. Welcome home."

The others started filling out onto the porch and a banner unfurled. "Welcome Home" it declared in big letters with all their names on it. Everyone clapped smiling and waving. It made him even happier to see. He grabbed Jubilee's hand who grabbed Gwen's who grabbed Jen's and he lead them up to the porch. "Howdy, everyone! We're home! Come meet your family!" And he started with Penny and Neo. "We're home my love."

Penny smiled. That earlier feeling that had vanished completely disappeared in that moment. Neo was right. Walt would always love them. Always love her. And now he wanted to share the love he'd found with her! Give her even more love. Surround her in love and joy.

She smiled as he embraced her. Laughed as Shogo patted both of their faces happily. Jubilee only momentarily shy which was immediately abandoned as they pulled her into the hugging. "Welcome home my loves!" She told them.

"It's so good to be home!" Jubilee smiled and hugged her and they both laughed as they kissed each others cheeks.

And that was the only the start! As Gwen and Jen were next then introducing them to Neo and Pyrrha and on and on and on... their family grew by four new members and they spent a longtime gathered outside around the porch... and each other.
