Goddess of Victory: Nikke

In a post-apocalyptic world devastated by massive, alien machines known as raptures, humanity has retreated from the surface and banded together in a small civilization known as the Ark. Their only hope to defend themselves and reclaim the world for humankind is found in androids called Nikke-- female soldiers under the control of the big three corporations and the Central Government. These Nikke are converted from ordinary humans with all of the power and durability of machines, but the appearance of women. They retain a portion of their memories, but they're practically slave soldiers, unable to harm humans due to the presence of a device called "Nimph," implanted in their brains.

Three-person squads of Nikke operate under the instructions of commanders, employed by the Central Government. Commanders may lead dangerous expeditions onto the surface, but they also are in charge of their Nikke's basic needs, shelter, and providing them the little bit of normalcy that keeps them walking the fine line between human and machine, securing their sanity. Nikke are often treated as expendable shields or weapons, but the best commanders know how to strategize and build the bonds between their teammates to ensure everyone's safety.

In a world with so much unexplainable technology from extraterrestrial sources, perhaps one more dubious device-- say, a suspicious phone app-- won't seem out of place.
