Go to brunch

Ryan leaves his car in the parking lot, because you’re driving him to brunch in your yellow Miata. Ryan loves watching me drive, you think, which of course former-you hadn’t known. _And I love being so good at it! _You’ve pretty much wiped out your former self, but you do retain full memories of having had to live a rather shorter lifetime as him, and yet again the delightful improvement of being Caroline Susan Ma, and soon Ryan’s wife Caroline Murphy, is something you savor. It’d be no big loss if I forgot being that awkward boy, though, you admit to yourself, your Carrie self. As usual it doesn’t cross your mind that you’ve effectively murdered the original Caroline Susan Ma so you can be her instead of the boy you were.

You downshift deftly and put the Miata in neutral at a red light, and turn your head to see that he’s been watching you appreciatively. “Ryan, I’d swear my driving turns you on!” you say.

“Oh, Carrie Sue, you know perfectly well it does,” says Ryan. “You know you’re a beautiful woman who’s brilliant at everything she does, and quite irresistible...”

“And all yours, Ryan!” you say, putting a little purr in your voice that you know he likes.
