Chapter 8 by JonnyRaymond JonnyRaymond

Go through the story... differently

Del decided that he (she? They?) should still be focused on the original mission, which given that the conduit sniper was “taken care” of, (how should the news be broken to Reggie?) was now to take Augustine’s concrete power and save the Akomish. First, Del looked through Fetch’s memories to track down the last Core Relay on the island for now. He then went across the city, hunting down every Tracker Drone and Command Center, kicking DUP ass and draining all the Blast Shards, making Del stronger. What was better was that every time she drained a Blast Core, it was an almost arousing sensation. It had not been like this when they were just Delsin, and looking through Fetch’s memories it didn’t seem like a female thing (in fact there was no memory of Fetch even draining a Core of any kind, weird). No, this had something to do with Del’s mutation. And man did it feel good.

However, Del had to keep on track. He went across the concrete bridge connecting the Northern and Southern islands of Seattle, where almost 3/4 of the way she was stopped by Augustine, and trapped on a lower floor. Augustine stood there, almost impressed with them, and sent down a large concrete encased good for Del to fight. It wasn’t easy, and required Del to absorb the neon lights, but eventually the goon was defeated.

Delsin looked up and saw Augustine peering at him, but there was something that Del was that they couldn’t quite get, but before they could think anymore about it Augustine started speaking.

“So, I guess you were right, when we first met. You DID take Daughtry’s power. I see you also took Fetch Walker’s too, although it seems you took a bit TOO much from her.”

“Listen Augustine, I don’t want any of your crap. All I want to do is save my people, who I might remind you are in danger of **** because of YOU! I’m not asking for much, just you give me some of your power, and then I’ll leave. I’ll be out of your life forever.”

“You want me to just GIVE you some of MY power? After what you did to Walker? No, I can’t let that happen.” And so with that, Augustine started to entrench Del in a concrete shell, the same fate as Hank.

Until suddenly, something picked up Del. They couldn’t see what lifted them up into the air, but through the muffled sounds, it was almost like... wings from a large bird flapping. Before they knew it, Del was dropped, and from what they could see, Del was at the top of a building, in the Lantern District.

Hey, it was at least where he wanted to go.
