Chapter 9 by Dogdog Dogdog

What is Tsunade's gameplan

Go straight for it

An unwavering grin remained as Mihara hummed

to herself with a wooden broomstick in hand. She had just gotten done with her most recent customer, and couldn't have felt more pleased with herself. The poor street rat of a person just had an air to himself that she couldn't shake. Perhaps his sheer positivity had rubbed off on her?

Whatever the reason, the moment he entered the parlor, she was brought to an entirely new level of blissfulness. Sure, he may not have paid her physically, but this pleasant aura of pure satisfaction that is bubbling through her veins is more than worth the physical currency she could have gotten out of him.

In all actuality, she had lost funds from their exchange. But even though she had given him her tip-jar, she couldn't find it in her to care. She was simply too pleased with herself.

The trim went by without a hitch. She did linger on one spot for longer than usual, but other than that slight hiccup. Everything went by painfully smooth.

It is hard to put into words, but it was as if circumstances were orchestrated by some otherworldly power so that their meeting would be as blissful as it could be.

But that's crazy.

Perhaps even, ridiculous.

Having dusted the stray bits of hair, along with the overall dirt that had cluttered the floor, into a mass. Mihara swept the mass of dirt onto a dustpan and she was about to empty the trash into the trash.

The waste bin was below a window, but she found pause as she happened to look out and spot the young man who's hair she had just trimmed walking down the road. He was a few steps away from being out of her vision, and she breathed out a blissful sigh as she watched him depart.

Before this day, she had never liked him. His presence always brought nothing but stress to the table. He couldn't afford anything; his clothes were ragged and unappealing to the sight. Potential customers would stay away if they spotted him nearby. Overall, he was annoying. She couldn't begin to count the number of times that street rat would beg her to have some sort of sympathy for him.

Sure, she has sympathy, it's unfortunate that he's stuck in his situation.

But she is also a hard-working woman who is in the business of making a profit. And as much as she spins it this way and that, there is no benefit in helping a random poor individual who can't afford a hair cut. There just isn't.

Apparently, today was different. She had been feeling uncharacteristically generous in providing him with a free trim. And she had no regrets.

That was until he took a right turn and walked out of her field of view. It was at that moment; reality smacked her with the harsh truth of what had just transpired.

That perfect feeling. The pleasant air that was flowing around her.

It vanished.

What the hell had she just done? She gave him a charge-free trim, no... Not only that, but she also paid him for it!

His lap... She straddled him, bottomless no less, and stroked his penis with her thighs. He ejaculated because of her makeshift lapdance. And coated her...

God she felt his seed, it's sticky substance was inside her ass, dripping down her thighs and legs.

She had been walking around, cleaning up his mess with his semen being spread against her with each step.

Still being bottomless, as she realized this. She brought a wavering hand down, to graze against the top of her thigh and right below her ass. Something sticky and disgustedly slimy met her fingertips.

That was when she screamed.

Shizune had full and complete trust in Tsunade. It was especially great to see her leader take difficult situations on herself when she could have easily assigned someone under her to do what she is doing now. A great leader will know when it's appropriate to do things themself. And this is one of those situations.

Perhaps it is because she has a feeling of responsibility for this unfortunate turn of events. The scrolls that had been stolen were assigned to be put under the safekeeping of the Hokage. And as it stands, Tsunade had failed in that regard.

But her great leader was fully prepared to fix this mess herself, and that was just one of the many reasons why Shizune holds Tsunade up to such a high pedestal.

So yes, while Tsunade's plan to have Shizune walk up, and casually talk to the man who - according to her - has access to a Jutsu so potentially dangerous, it must be kept hidden from everyone inside and out of the Leaf. Isn't something Shizune would particularly want to do, she does have complete trust in her Hokage.

Shizune had lept from their perch in the tree and landed behind a far-back discarded shopping cart unseen to anyone milling about the plaza. And even while she trusted Tsunade with her life, she still was ever so hesitant in walking up to the guy.

He appeared normal enough, wasn't burley, but far from skinny; he had an overall decent build. His attention was on a woman who was carrying around a pristine cart that was filled with precious looking rocks and gems. Clearly, she was affluent and was on the market, searching for someone interested in growing her wealth.

Yes, the man was very interested in the woman and, more particularly, the expensive cargo she was carrying.

It could be said that what the woman was doing, wouldn't have been a smart decision. But that's actually far from the case in Konoha. The police **** in the Leaf is extremely competent in their line of work, especially with how trained their members are. If a woman as rich and influential as the one who was selling those jewels appears to be, reports that someone stole from her with proper evidence, the criminal in question wouldn't have much time to enjoy the swiped gem.

And everyone in the plaza knew this.

Everyone except for this man, of course. With the way he was seated on that crate and examining the cart of expensive materials in the woman's possession. It gave Shizune the vibe of a viper that was moments away from striking. The street was too busy for anyone else to notice, but it was clear that this man had something planned.

Whatever Jutsu he had access to, he was about to unleash it.

Taking a deep breath, Shizune approached the man. Tsunade wanted her to talk to him; the question now is. What should she say?

"Excuse me, sir," Shizune said, and she noticed the man stiffen upon hearing her voice. "I happened to be on the lookout for... Um..." Her mind was drawing a blank. And now that the guy had shifted to give her a suspiciously raised eyebrow, she was finding it ever more hard to speak. "Someone who would like to... Sample... Yes, sample a product I was..."

"Not interested." The man stood up and dismissed her with an idle raise of his hand. He resumed his gaze back on the woman, who was now leaving the plaza with her cart. Grimacing, he began moving towards her.

Gulping, Shizune pressed on. "No sir! Could you hold on?"

She followed him. Though he completely ignored her, his attention was on the departing woman; it was obvious that he didn't want her to get away.

Shizune didn't know if she should attempt to stop him, or if that would prompt him to unleash whatever Jutsu he has.

But Tsunade only said to talk to him, so that's what she'll do.

"It would only take a moment, sir if you would please..."

"No!" He had raised voice. So much so that he had gained the attention of a couple passing patrons. Even the wealthy woman stopped moving to idly look back towards the shouting man.

He gritted his teeth at the newfound attention he had gained. "Screw it," Was all he said as a warning before he brought his hands together; his fingers moved gracefully in a fixed pattern, showing skill and knowledge of what he was doing. With his palms beginning to light up, Shizune knew he was about to release his seal.

But she didn't know what was going to happen, and thus wasn't aware of what course of action she should take. Her trust was in Tsunade, who claims to know of what scrolls have gone missing.

He clapped his glowing palms together. Just then, the light he formed began to expand its glow with rapid speed.

"EEEEEeeeeeeeeEeeeEEEEEEEEEEEK!"

As if on cue, a scream shot through the sky, it sounded like it came from a distressed or disgusted teen. The sound caught the attention of almost everyone in the plaza; they all looked up out of instinct. Only to then be enveloped in the massively bright light the man created through his palms.

The sheer brightness caught Shizune off guard, and she squinted her eyes before suddenly blinking.

She looked around curiously as did the rest of the people around her. Scratching her arm, she pursed her lips. What was she doing here? How did she... She had just been in the Hokage Office a few seconds ago. And now she's standing miles away in the midst of the central plaza?

Her head tingled, and she was overall dazed, which is a trait that everyone around her seemed to have as well. Just then, there was the sound of someone landing on the ground next to her, creating a small breeze of wind in the process.

"Tsunade-sama?" Shizune confusedly said. What has happened? How did she get here, and why is Tsunade here as well, the Hokage was in her office just a few seconds ago.

"Shizune, I'm sorry I..." Tsunade began to speak.

"Hey!" A random guy blinked away the dizziness that had been surrounding him. "It's the Hokage!"

"Oh, nice. What are you doing here?"

"Hokage-sama, would you like to take a look at my..."

"Hello, hello" Tsunade sighed and raised a hand to wave and the curious people around her.

But after no more than a few greetings, she turned her attention back to her assistant. She griped Shizune by the shoulder and lept into the air, where they landed on the roof of a building.

After the two women settled, Shizune had to take a few seconds to gather her bearings. Her mind was still running on overdrive, trying to piece together the sheer improbability of what had transpired from her recent memories.

Tsunade stood behind her, resting a caring hand on Shizune's back.

"Tsunade-sama, what happened?" She asked her Hokage after flicking back a few strands of dark-hair.

The blond woman seemed concerned, so she must've known something Shizune didn't.

"What is the last thing you remember Shizune?" Tsunade answered the question she was given with an inquiry of her own.

"EEEEEeeeeeeeeEeeeEEEEEEEEEEEK!"

"Holy shit!" I stumbled over... Something, I'm not quite sure what. But that abrupt sound definitely got me shook.

It was freaking loud, and full of pure disgust slash anguish. So basically me every Thursday morning when I realize I had forgotten to take out the trash the night previously.

But that shriek, it was familiar. Oddly familiar. It isn't often one can recognize the distressed cries of the unknown. Hense them being unknown.

Though in this case, it was scarily familiar. As if it came from a chick he had just recently talked with.

It was that barbershop lady I had fucked over through the help of my magic book! And from the sound of things, she did not seem too happy over the events that took place.

Mhmm... Well, its times like this where a man has got to pick up the pace and get the hell out of dodge. And perhaps I should stop referring to this book as mine, cause once word gets out, it won't be too long before shit comes back to bite me in the arse.

Someone's going to check on the girl, she's going to explain the situation. I'm going to be named dropped. (Though, she doesn't know my actual name, so that might give me a few more hours.) Then it's only a matter of time before the Hokage catches wind that a thief boy had stolen from her collection.

After that, I'd be lucky to be given a fair trial.

I did something that could probably be deserving of ****.

Sure, before I could have claimed it was an honest accident. Which, to be fair, it was. But by this point, I had actively used it against someone. Not only to have a pleasant day, but to rock my socks off in the process.

I sat down at my desk and used my pen to write out the events that took place. So all that shit before was made by conscious effort. Tsunade's gonna send her special ops team of ninjas to take me in.

Because let's be honest, a person like me isn't worth the time for her to do it herself, The woman is rarely seen outside of her intimidating tower, unless it's the end of the world or some shit.

As I power walked back to the inn—my mind racing on ways I could save my ass. Most of them ended in not so pleasant scenarios.

Every experience I've had with those ninja's ended sourly in one way or another, but they are still people! Just... Very... Very... Very... Skilled people.

Tsunade's gonna be pissed, that's a given. And I've already used the book, so I can't pull the _''I didn't touch it!'' _card. But if I apologize, be honest and say that I got a little bit greedy and explain the full situation. She couldn't send me to a prison cell, right?

I mean, sure she could. Hell, she could have me killed, or kill me herself.

But morally speaking, she couldn't do it... I hope...

She wouldn't look a poor person who was **** into a shit situation in the eyes and send them into a cell for the rest of their pathetic life.

So that's what I'll do!

I'll head back, close the book for good, never use it again and...

And...

And use the book...

Holy hell! I'm a fucking retard!

Nothing's stopping me from reading my own future to see how shit plays out. And if I don't like the outcome, I could very easily change it.

From what I gathered, I can also affect other people's stories through my own. That's how I got a free lapdance from a chick that usually despises me.

But once she is placed out of my story, the book no longer affects her, which is probably the reason she shrieked a few minutes after I had left. Once she was taken out of my story, her mind caught up with the situation and realized how fucked everything was.

So... So if I wanted to, I could fully edit her own story, and then I would have full control over her every action. Instead of manipulating her by proxy of editing my future, I would just be controlling her outright.

Hmm...

Well, I don't know her name, so I can't write her in the book and prevent her from blabbing.

...

Fuck!

What do I...

No.. No... Calm down...

First, I'll read my future and see what happens. Then move on from there.

"You were hit point blank with a forbidden seal," Tsunade spoke with concern. "It causes amnesia through the eyes of whoever witnesses the blinding light." The older woman's hand rested against Shizune's back.

The Hokage felt responsible for this, for everything that had gone down. No hint of resentment was sent towards Naruto of Sakura; they both did as she requested of them. If anyone's to blame, it would be her.

She should have overseen it herself instead of using the night to drink herself to sleep. Perhaps if she had gone through with the task, none of this would have happened.

The sheer severity of the situation isn't something she had fully disclosed with Shizune. Mainly so the girl wouldn't worry too much. But each and every one of those items that were stolen hold the potential power to influence not just the lives of Leaf, but beyond.

There is a reason why they have been concealed from the outside world.

Tsunade didn't even trust herself to wield the skills that they hold.

With even just a few of the scrolls missing, it might already be too late. But Tsunade would be dammed if she didn't try till her last breath to fix the mistake she had created.

Konohagakure had treaties to adhere too. And if news comes out about what happened, an inevitable war can come into play.

The amnesia-creation seal that man used is on the weaker scale of prohibited justu. But even that could bring the village to its knees if used properly.

Futunetly, from what Tsunade had witnessed, the man who has knowledge of the seal, doesn't realize the immense potential at hand.

The mind erasing effect could be made lethal. Shizune appeared to be fine and had only lost memory of the preceding five minutes. But if used properly, the man could have erased every once of memory Shizune, and everyone else in that plaza had access to.

A memory-erasing jutsu isn't something new, but to the magnitude that this one is capable of. It certainly is new and extremely forbidden.

It creates a light, such as the man had displayed. But if activated at a certain elevation, or with enough concentration. The seal could create a light blinding enough to engulf the entire village. Effectively whipping the minds of everyone who witnesses, it's aura.

Tsunade was able to cover her eyes to prevent the seal from affecting her. But if the man had known, he could have held the seal for as long as he pleased. And while adverting one's eye is an effective way to avoid the seal, it would be almost impossible to keep 100% of the blinding light from affecting the mind.

She had to stop that man.

Now.

And then there'd be no rest; she'd head straight for whoever had the next stolen scroll. Unless someone managed to stop her, she is going on a direct warpath.

"Stay here." Tsunade gave her assistants back one last rub. And she turned around.

"Tsunade-sama, I'm alright," Shizune spoke calmly, yet her head was still somewhat dazed.

Cocking her neck to the side, Tsunade looked behind her. She silently examed Shizune, before sighing. "I believe you, but stay here regardless. I need you to recover. I'll deal with this guy and come back."

With that said, Tsunade lept into the air and landed across the street atop the rooftop of a house.

The guilt she had felt only increased once Shizune was hit with the seal. The girl had trusted her, and Tsunade failed to protect her.

It was that sudden scream that caused Tsunade to hesitate. It was only a slight stammer, but it was enough to prevent the Hokage from getting Shizune out of there.

And that scream, odds are it had something to do with this sudden problem she has on her hands. Maybe it would be in her best interest to bring assistance in reclaiming the missing scrolls. If only so that she could wrap this mess up as soon as possible.

I made it to the inn, and headed straight to my room. There were a couple guests milling about the lobby. Akami was no wear to be seen, but I didn't stop to see if they needed help. It was my day off, so fuck them.

Also, I'm pretty sure I needed help. And unfortunately, the only one who could provide me with that is me and that book.

Notice how I didn't label it as ''my'' book. Because it isn't...

At least not yet, perhaps if I play my cards correctly, I could get myself out of this dilemma scot-free.

First step on the agenda~ I sat down on the stool in front of my desk and pulled myself forward.

Opening the book, my name was still on the front page, and the date on the top left-most corner correctly matched with today.

That added up since I prepared everything that had happened to me.

After flipping the page, I was relieved to see that my current future was to read the book. And not notice anything that needed to be edited for the rest of the day.

But then I check the next day and-

Shit...

Sakura and Naruto are in the main hall of the inn when I come down for the morning. They claim they want to talk in private. But after a few minutes, Sakura performs some hand seal and detects something in the room. At that point, they bring me to the Hokage tower for further investigation and...

Fuck.....

Okay, so fucking around with the barbershop girl does end up to bite me in the arse.

Who saw that coming?

My heart was beating like a drum.

How would Akami feel if she sees me get arrested over stealing from the Hokage's personal collection? I've stolen a few things before. It kinda came with the life of living on the streets. But after Akami took me in, I more than completely stopped that way of life.

She'd feel betrayed...

More than betrayed.

She'd feel...

Actually, she'd feel fine.

I'd feel fine.

Because I'm not letting that future play out, here I have to means to edit my story. So I'm gonna do just that!

But first...

I erased my name, and the entire book glowed white. Its pages were made blank, and the book awaited another name to be written down.

Who says my story is the only one I can edit?

The ninja's from last night come by to visit.

Let me start with them.

My pencil pressed against the top of the empty page. I knew full well that this could end horribly if it catches wind that I willingly attempted to manipulate them.

But on the other side of the spectrum. If I'm in this deep, why not take a few risks?

That jutsu wielding maniac managed to move quite far in the short timespan Tsunade held back to confirm that her apprentice was okay.

She wasn't sure what she would have done if Shizune had permanently lost her memory because of a slight hiccup on Tsunade's part.

The guilt would have driven her into a drinking mess, as she attempted to figure out a cure.

But that didn't happen.

Tsunade gritted her teeth as she leaped across the rooftops.

And she won't allow it to happen. Not to anyone else.

The man was carless, using world-altering power to steal a few petty jewels. Clearly, he lacked the ability to see the bigger picture that was at play here. And that is what she will use to her advantage.

He won't be expecting her. The only worry she has is how simple the seal is to release. And the man demonstrated that he has a staggering trigger finger.

Tsunade would have to fasten his hands down and be on the lookout for the flash of light. She can't afford to let him wipe her memory as he did Shizune's.

Finding a person who can wipe the memories of an entire village should have been a challenge, even with her ability to sense the overflowing aura of his chakra. Nothing is preventing him from creating a citywide seal that would cause her to completely forget why she was leaping from rooftop to rooftop.

Nothing except his sheer incompetence.

The man was located easily; he had run a few blocks down and was out of breath, leaning against the brick wall in the alleyway between two houses.

Tsunade landed on the roof of the building and loomed over the man. She steadily crouched, keeping her balance as she examined him with narrow eyes.

He had yet to notice her.

Good.

She slammed her left hand to the side, making sure not to use too much strength. As her fist collided with the roof, it sent five cleanly shaped tiles into the air beside her.

Without looking, Tsunade swung her left arm before her, catching the roof's plating between her fingers in the process.

The action caused four of the tiles soring towards her target.

Begiving only the chance to blink, the man found himself pinned to the wall by the rigid plates. Two landed to his left and right, holding his shirt sleeves in place while the other two caught him by the pants.

It was at that moment; the bewildered man noticed the female figure perched on the edge of the roof above him. The light cascaded most of her in a shade of shadow. Though the slight shades of green that came off from her gave away who she was.

"Oh... Shiit..."

The man cursed.

Just then, Tsunade disappeared in a puff of smoke. And the reappeared directly in front of him. Provoking the man into recoiling his head back in surprise.

He bumped his head against the wall and winced.

"I hope you can give me a good reason not to dispatch of you right here." Tsunade slipped the fifth piece of roof tile out from her coat sleeve and held it to his throat as a makeshift weapon.

The man gulped. He knew full well that Tsunade could effectively turn almost any object into a weapon of some kind if she chose to do so.

"I.. I... I didn't do anything?"

Tsunade's eyes narrowed. "Wrong answer." She pressed the tile closer into him. "You stole something you shouldn't have even known existed. Try offering me a better answer... I'll give you one more chance."

"Please! Please!" The man showed that he was a real coward, or at least a suckup, perhaps both. He'd be willing to say anything to save his ass, even if there wasn't a valid excuse. "I didn't steal it from you! Someone gave it to me!"

He shut his eyes and awaited her angered response.

Tsunade was put at a pause. The possibility that a third party had orchestrated this entire event hadn't crossed her mind. It would be strange, but not totally farfetched. If one person managed to steal from her sacred storage and then proceeded to portion out the stolen goods to hide the original trail.

It could possibly work... But no... That requires too much trust that no one would squeal just as this guy is doing right now.

"Answer truthfully, and you have a possibility of getting out of this unscathed. Understand?" Tsunade didn't falter her stern gaze, but she also wanted to believe that he wasn't a horrible person at heart.

The man nodded, his face showing that he was scared shitless.

"Alright then..." Tsunade closed her eyes, and sighed. "Who~"

When her eyelids parted open, she was greeted with a blinding light. It caught her off guard and caused the busty woman to stagger backward.

She brought a hand to her temple and winced. Her mind felt fuzzy, and her eyes tingled. As if she had just been exposed to an obnoxiously bright flash.

A few seconds later, she caught her bearings and shook her head. "Tsunade-sama!" A sound cut through her ears, and Tsunade swung a leg around on pure instinct but froze a few inches away from a shocked Shizune.

A small bead of sweat appeared on Shizune's forehead. "Tsunade-sama?"

"Sorry," Tsunade blushed and lowered her leg. "Sorry, I feel... Befuddled... I..." She straightened out her jacket that had seemed to be disarranged in her confusion and was draping down her shoulder. It almost seemed as though someone had attempted to remove it. But she had no recollection of that happening. "I'm not sure how I got here..."

Shizune blinked and hesitantly spoke. "You do remember me?"

"Yes, of course," Tsunade frowned, "Shizune, are you feeling well?"

"Yes! Yes! I stayed put as you ordered, but I saw a bright light and was concerned." Shizune clasped her hands together. "I'm afraid you had your memory... Well what is the last thing you can recall Tsunade-sama?"

Tsunade tilted her head and thought aloud. "You and I had gone out to..." Her eyes widened. And she immediately opened up her jacket in a hurry. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a neatly folded card.

The Hokage's golden eyes trailed across the text. It was written in her own handwriting. And what it told her sent Tsunade into a state of anger.

She scrunched up the sheet of paper and tossed it to the dust-ridden ground.

"He got me..." Tsunade said, she furrowed her brow and looked somewhat ashamed.

"You remember?"

"No," The Hokage admitted. "But I remember enough... I wrote myself that message just in case I... Come on Shizune. We mustn't let him get far."

What now?
