Go see your father

You walked over to your father, and overheard him talking to the green haired kid. The kid looked about sixteen, though you supposed he might be older and just small for his age.

"... but some stuff has come up at the gym that I need to take care of." He paused, spotting you approaching. "Hm? Well, if it isn't Emery! So you're all finished moving in?{if May Travel==1}" He glanced at May next to you. "And who's this? Found yourself a girlfriend already?" He chuckled, while you and May both blushed.

May quickly shook her head. "I'm May Birch. We decided to travel together on our pokemon journeys."

Your father looked you over. "Pokemon journey?" His eyes locked onto Ace. "Oh, I see." He grinned at you. "Then I guess you're going to become a Trainer like me, Emery. That's great news! I'll be looking forward to it!"{else} I'm surprised that you managed to get here by yourself." His eyes locked onto Ace. "Oh, I see. You're with your Pokémon. Hmm…" He grinned at you. "Then I guess you're going to become a Trainer like me, Emery. That's great news! I'll be looking forward to it!"{endif}

You nodded. "I am. That's-"

Your father cut you off with a raised hand, glancing back at the green haired kid and then at you. "Wally here has just gotten his licence-" Huh, he must be older than he looks then. "-but there aren't any starter pokemon available for him in town. Go with Wally and make sure that he safely catches a Pokémon." He addressed Wally and passed him a pokeball. "Wally, here, I'll loan you my Pokémon. Hm. I'll give you a Poké Ball, too. Go for it!"

You sighed, a bit frustrated. You'd just gotten to town to challenge your dad and the first thing he did was shove a kid at you and tell you to go do his job for him.
