Go into town

“I’d like to have a look around the city first. On my way here I noticed the various shops, and the large assortment of goods they offer. Perhaps I will find something of interest for me. I would also like to hear the rumors circulating around. Sometimes seemingly worthless stories and rumors can offer valuable information that never reaches the authorities. I have learned that from personal experience.”

“Very well. Would you like a guide, or do you prefer to explore on your own?”

“I’ll be fine on my own. There’s no need to waste your servants’ time and energy with showing me the city when they could be doing something more productive, such as trying to find out more about these trolls.”

“You make a good point. Very well, then. Have fun exploring the city.”

“Thank you, Your Highness.” Ciara bowed to the King before leaving. Outside the throne room the lady from earlier was waiting for her.

“I assume you would like to have some cash before you start your exploration?” The woman asked her.

“No, I don’t need anything. I have more than enough gold.”

“But you’re not carrying anything.” The woman looked at Ciara confused.

“Yes, I’m not. So where could I be hiding my gold?” She looked at her companion with a sly smile on her face. The woman just looked at her in confusion for several seconds. Then her eyes widened and her gaze briefly shot down to the fairy’s crotch before going back to her face. The woman’s face turned completely red in embarrassment. Ciara giggled seeing this.

“Someone’s thinking naughty things about me, I see. Yes, I could hide some gold ‘down there’ but no, this is not the case, sorry to disappoint you.” The woman said nothing and just looked at the floor, embarrassed. “I don’t carry any gold around because I don’t need to. When I need some I can get it in the blink of an eye. So I don’t need to worry about thieves. Fortunately for them, I might add. Now if you could show me the way back to the entrance?” Ciara asked. “Unless there’s something ELSE you want from me?” She added, causing the woman’s blush to return to her face just as it had subsided.

“This way, please.” The lady said without looking at the fairy and quickly led the guest back to the entrance, where Ciara decided to be merciful and not tease any of the guards… this time. Instead she calmly walked away from the palace and into the city.

An hour later Ciara had explored most of the city (partially thanks to her ability to fly which had sped things up quite a bit) and had found several places of interest:
-first were two shops that sold various items, including a few magical ones. It wouldn’t take long to check them out and find anything of interest
-next were a few taverns with plenty of visitors at this time of they. Each one seemed like a good place to hear the latest rumors. Plus each place had some pretty serving wenches
-three different brothels had caught her interest. None of them seemed cheap, but gold was the least of her worries
-there were a few other places she could visit, such as a library, or one of the gardens
