Go for a walk and visit a new shop

Later that day, you decide to take a walk around the town. As you walk down the street, you notice a little shop.

Inside, there's a cuter girl working. You decide to go in and say "Hi." The girl looks up and screams. She begins to cower in fear.

"What's wrong?" you ask.

"I... I'm sorry. I didn't know anyone was in here," she says, catching her breath.

"It's alright. Your scream was a bit loud, though," you say.

"Sorry," she says again.

"What's your name?" you ask.

"Kylie," she says.

"Well, Kylie, why were you screaming? Did I say or do something?" you ask.

"No, I was just surprised. You walked in," she says.

"Ah. So... do you always scream the moment someone walks in the store?" you ask jokingly.

"I... I... No! I'm not normally like that! I was just... um...," she trails off.

"Sssh, it's alright. No need to explain," you say.

Kylie sighs in relief and sits down on a nearby box.

"Are you okay?" you ask.

"I have a boyfriend," she whispers.

"Really? Is he a jerky one-eyed bartender?" you ask playfully.

She shakes her head, "He's in the military. He'll be coming home soon. For good."

"Ah, I see. Are you waiting for him or something?" you ask.

"Yes," she says halfheartedly.

"You sound unsure if you want him to come home or not. Why don't you want him to come home?" you ask.

"I don't know. I just... I don't love him," she says.

"Why not?" you persist, knowing there's more.

"He... he hurts me," she says on the verge of tears.

"How?" you ask.

"He... he does bad things to me," she says.

"Like what?" you ask.

She begins to look around nervously.

"You can trust me," you say.

"His name is Roldan. He hits me for no good reason. I'm so scared. I'd do anything to get away from him," she says and begins to sob into your arms.

"I'm sorry you have to go through this. It's awful," you say.

"Can you help me?" she asks.
