As Alandra peered through the bushes, she quickly skimmed the area with her eyes. Noticing no one about, she shimmied out of the bushes and ran to the edge of the clearing, the better to get a good distance when she jumped in.

"Unca, dresana, treka!" she thought then charged for the water, hitting the edge of the lake and leaping into the air.

Just as she went under a shout rang out from the other side of the lake.
