Chapter 212 by Somburliss Somburliss

What do you choose?

Go along with her nonsense

===============================================================================================================

Team Rocket Captive Stump – Any chance of removing these cuffs?

  • Dugtrio – Capable, Healthy
  • Pidgeotto – Fairly Strong, Healthy

===============================================================================================================

VS

===============================================================================================================

Team Rocket Boss – Of course not! You can throw pokeballs like that just fine. Now let’s battle!

  • Dragonair – Strong, Healthy

===============================================================================================================

There’s one thing you can be sure of in this battle. Even if you win, she won’t release you and Emilia. The stakes are just a farce; a flimsy justification for this battle she wants to have. She’s probably motivated by boredom and arrogant whimsy more than anything else. Still, she seems to like the idea of putting you in the same cell as Emilia, so going along with this should, at least, have a point.

“I guess I’ll go along with this game of yours…” you sigh.

“Good answer,” she replies. “I guess I’ll start off with something easy. Dragonair, go!”

A blue serpent appears with a white underbelly. The jewels adorning its neck and tail give it a rather refined appearance, and one you’ve rarely seen. A Dragonair is easy? And the words “start off” suggest this isn’t her only pokemon. The chances of you winning aren’t looking great.

“Dugtrio, go!”

Emilia’s Dugtrio enters the battle. Dragonair’s ability to effortlessly fly, or perhaps just float, will let it avoid most Ground-type attacks, so you’ll have to use something else.

“Dugtrio, use Astonish!”

Dragonair makes no attempt to protect itself, and its trainer gives no instruction otherwise. Dugtrio’s attack lands cleanly, but Dragonair is only slightly affected.

“That’s all? Well then, Dragonair, use Aqua Tail!”

Faster than you can react, Dragonair throws itself at Dugtrio, striking it with a powerful Water-type move. It’s enough to KO Dugtrio in one hit. You sigh and return Dugtrio to its pokeball. Sorry, Emilia… You promise you have a good reason for this, though.

Pidgeotto, I choose you!”

Your own pokemon, the evolved form of Pidgey, emerges into the room. You spent the time to catch a Pidgey and train it after that sweepstakes fell through. Fortunately, you still have a knack for this pokemon stuff from your childhood, it seems. But this surprise was for Emilia, not some bitch of a crime lord…

This time, the Rocket boss takes the first move. “Dragonair, use Wrap!”

You’ll counter its approach. “Pidgeotto, use Gust!”

Wind gets whipped up throughout the room, pushing Dragonair back and shutting down its attack. As a bonus, the woman’s glasses end up crooked. The small victories.

Adjusting her glasses, she issues her next command. “Dragonair, use Thunderbolt.”

An Electric move!? Crap! “Pidgeotto, dodge!”

In the nick of time, Pidgeotto gets out of the way, causing the bolt of lightning to hit the back wall. That was close.

“Pidgeotto, use Air Cutter!”

“Dragonair, Dragon Rage!”

A bright purple ball is launched from Dragonair, piercing the blue blades of wind from your Pidgeotto and knocking it off balance.

“Now, Slam!” your opponent orders.

“Pidgeotto, dodge!”

Your Pidgeotto tries to follow through with your command, but Dragonair is able to land its blow, sending Pidgeotto plummeting to the ground.

“Now, Thunderbolt!”

So fast! Dragonair takes almost no time to recover, launching attack after attack. Pidgeotto has no chance to protect itself, and takes a direct hit from its weakness, rendering it unable to fight. You bring it back to its pokeball.

You look at your victorious opponent with a bitter scowl. “Happy?”

She touches her finger to her chin pensively. “Well… somewhat, yes. You upheld your end of the bargain at least, though I would’ve liked a bit more of a challenge. Expecting greatness from the ordinary is always a mistake, but I just can’t help but hope sometimes.” She recalls her Dragonair, then idly tosses the pokeball in her hand as though deliberating over something. “I’ve decided you’ll serve us best as Team Rocket’s newest semen receptacle. Guard, see to it that she and her pupil are put in a double cell. Give her the same ****, too. It should be an interesting way to teach the shortstack some manners.”

What awaits you in the cells?
