Glenn tried on the swimsuit and paraded in front of his Mom

Glenn hesitated, but he knew there was no way around it. A few minutes later, he returned, arms crossed tightly over his chest. The navy-blue trunks sagged awkwardly in the front, the fabric sitting too far from his body.

His mother barely suppressed a smirk. "I don’t see a problem."

Glenn clenched his jaw. "Mom, it’s too baggy."

Before he could react, she reached forward and tugged at the waistband, pulling the fabric away from his body. Then, just as quickly, she let it snap back into place.

"Well," she said, raising an eyebrow, "it’s not the trunks that are too big. You’re just small."

Glenn’s face burned with humiliation. "Mom, stop."

She smirked. "Oh, come on. What do you want me to say? There’s not exactly much to fill it out, is there?"

Glenn's fists clenched. "It’s not about that. It just doesn’t fit right!"

She rolled her eyes. "Alright, alright. I get it, you’re uncomfortable." She gestured at the sagging fabric. "Yeah, maybe this is a bit roomy."

Glenn exhaled, relieved that she was finally acknowledging the problem.

His mother sighed and picked up her phone again. "Fine. We’ll go to the mall on Saturday morning and get you something else. But I’m not spending a fortune on it."

Glenn nodded, eager to end the conversation.

As he turned to leave, he heard her mutter under her breath, "Honestly, you make such a fuss over the dumbest things."

Glenn ignored it. He had won, at least a little.

Saturday couldn’t come fast enough.
