Give up for today

She decides to call it a day, she is too tired and needs to rest. She gets back on track, she knows the way back and all the ways on this forest like the back of her delicate hands, nevertheless she needs to be wary of the bandits she heard are roaming the forests searching for a victim, she heard stories of them: theft is the best thing they do, they are adept of murdering people after a rough session of **** or ****. So she stays alert to every sound she might find to be suspect. Fortunately enough, today nothing came for her, man or animal, after a few minutes of walking she has reached the village, only a single person is waiting for her today. It's not entirely surprising, since the first day, the amount of people who believed in her abilities was always low, but now they are becoming almost non-existent (although there is a very special exception to that) she comes back again, defeated by the deer.

"Nothing again?" Says the very exception, his name is Sanders and he was her best friend. "Yes, that damned beast is incomprehensibly sensitive and smart, it's like he knows when I will attack." Lina rants in frustration. "Come on! You are smarter than most of us here in the village." He says smiling. "It won't take long before you can outsmart him, you only need to learn his behavior, my grandpa used to say that once you know the beast, he is yours for the taking." He says, trying to reassure her. She responds, feeling hopeless "I don´t know, perhaps I should give up on this. Too much trouble." Immediately Sanders places his hands at her shoulders and smiles again "I believe in you." Lina is beyond embarrassment, she has a long-standing crush on him since he saved her from being molested by an elder of the village and since then they were best friends, but she wants more. But she´s too shy to tell him her feelings, she fears Sanders will reject her.
