Give the lake a look-over

You give the lake itself a closer look. The water itself looks more clear and refreshing than any natural or man-made body of water you've ever seen. The giant lilypads you noticed look beautiful and surprisingly sturdy. They might be able to hold your weight and they grow abundant enough you might be able to cross them to the other side. The big question of course being whether two mights make a right.

While considering it you come to a sobering realization: you can't see the bottom of the lake. The shore only extends maybe twenty feet out before plunging downwards into the belly of a dark gaping hole. That's definitely weird. And... creepy.

You tear your eyes away from it before you can freak out about it. You have a mission. You're not gonna get scared by a little giant possibly bottomless death pit of nightmares.
