“Very well. Shall we.” I said and she came at me. I blocked several blows but she was far better. She landed one hit to my thigh and then my neck which stung like a mother fucker.

“I had hoped for more.” She said circling me.

“What is that suppose to mean?” I asked and she swung one blade with a wide swing which I had to use both swords to block while she used the second blade to hit my stomach knocking the wind out of me. While she wasn't quit as fast as willow she was still pretty fast and easily matched my strength meaning I didn't have an edge on her at all. Add in the fact she was a few hundred years old and I was easily outmatched.

“That is what I mean.” She said and she came at me again though I blocked her blades and took a step back dodging her killing strike.

“Don't get hit.” She said. She had said I only need to land one blow. I went on the offensive and swung a sword high which she blocked and used my momentum to thrust my other sword at her leg. She raised her leg up and then kicked the sword breaking it. She came at me again.

“Murum.” I said and threw up my hand. Her sword hit my shield and shattered into splinters.

“Finally. You should never hold back when in a fight. Learn every weapon you have at your disposal. Even your magic.”

“Noted.” I smiled. She wasn't teaching me how to fight but how to think for myself. I smiled and spun the sword in my hand and threw it like a spear. She jumped back several yards using her wings as it almost hit her. She had cleared one hell of a gap.

“Venit.” I said and held out my hand and the sword came back and to my surprise I caught it by the handle. I had always been scared to try it with an ax or a dagger since I could easily impale myself.

“Ventus.” I said and threw up my hand and hit one of her wings with a gust of wing and making her spin as she came down and swung my sword an inch from her neck and gave it a light tap.

“Noted.” I nodded. After that she actually taught me a few things about fighting with two swords. She had a pretty good idea of my capabilities from our fight of where my weak points were. I headed inside to wash up and Elena found me with satchel and waterskin.

“Here you go for your trip.” She said holding them out.

“A picnic basket to take on your ride and a waterskin filled with wine.” She shrugged.

“Enter.” She said and I entered to see her dressed in a rather tight fitting riding suit.

“You ready to go?” I smiled.

“I rode to the top of the mountain. Got ate up by fairies when I tried to heal one with a broken wing.”

“There is a small mountain here. If we can get to the top of the mountain we might be able to see your mountain but it still be to far to tell but we might see a valley out that way..

“As an elder tree grows it's roots grow out and eventually touch one another. The one he burned was the one that linked the elf and trows trees.”

“Can I ask. Why did they attack? They have trees of their own.”

“Which they have been cutting into for centuries. The sap increases their powers but harvesting it is slowly killing the trees. What once was forest has become swamps and marsh land over the centuries.” The princess shook her head.

“You guys coming?” Willow said standing in the doorway. We headed out and mounted up. Kara took off into air.

“We have a lot of ground to cover so try and keep up.” The princess smiled and took off.

“How big is that thing.” I said looking at it. It had to be days if not weeks away but stood out over the endless field of green.

“Pretty big. That is a weeks ride up river. Longer by road. It would cover the whole of crescent city in shade at midday. It's the largest of all the elder trees.”

“Any clue what mountain you were on?” She said and took the spy glass back and pulled her map from her satchel.

“That one their I think.” I pointed.

“Looks about right on the map. Can't really see the lake but I am sure it's there.”

“Your stream probably runs off that way and probably into that valley there.” She said.

“To bad we cant go any further but it probably be dark by the time we reached that valley there and Kara would never let me. She did agree to look a little while she was up there.”

“Here. Pipsqueak made this for me and you.” I said as I grabbed the satchel and waterskin. “We have a blanket. Cheese, bread, and grapes and some wine I think.”

“So when this is all over will you head back home?” I asked.

“No. I am suppose to go meet my grandmother in the capital after I leave here. Even when I do go back it I will be surrounded by suitors looking to become the future king so I am in no hurry. Not a one of them cares about me. Only what I can give them.”

“I would like that, seeing the world but I love my mother and father and would become home sick eventually.” She shrugged.

“The head priestess gave it to me after I brought back the dryad sap.”

“Some of these can be pretty fun.” She smiled and flipped through the book.

“Pretty much.” The princess nodded and sat the book down.

“Courage.” She shrugged and clanked her cup against mine.
