Girls Night Out

The day went by quickly with an errand or two, a quick lunch out then back home to relax before the evening.

"Where are y'all going tonight?" Jonathan asked as he helped pack groceries away.

"Grabbing some food and drinks at the Old Hound."

"Ah nice. Don't stay out too late." he said playfully.

"Oh I won't ha ha." she gave him a kiss "Well I better start to get ready. Beauty takes time." Leah turned and headed off to the master bedroom to shower and prepare her night out attire, hair, and makeup. It had been a while since she and her friends had had a night on the town. It would be good to blow off some steam.

Leah waved Jonathan goodbye as she headed toward the quaint down town area of Pleasant Plains. It had certainly built up in the last 10 years but it wasn't exactly a big city like Atlanta or New York. Leah was the third one to arrive and she quickly joined her friends at the bar area until they could get seated.

"Hey girl!" Samantha said giving her a friendly hug.

"What's up Leah!" Jennifer, a thin brunette they mutually knew through a spin class said greeting Leah with a warm hug.

"Hey girls! So good to see y'all!" Leah smiled warmly "It has been--TOO long."

"Oh God I know!" Samantha said nodding. Jennifer agreed with a nod.

"Where is Emily?" Leah asked.

"Late as usual." Jennifer gave a snort of friendly contempt.

"Well lets go ahead and grab a drink." Samantha suggested. The two other women agreed and they were soon cheering at the bar until their friend arrived.

"Hey y'all sorry I'm late." Emily struggled up to the bar, her high heels and oversized purse making her look like something out of Sex and the City. She was a curvy fake red head who everyone had long since forgotten what color of hair she was originally born with it had changed so much.

"Oh no problem!" Leah warmly greeted her friend.

They soon were given a proper table and began to eat and drink more and converse. Most topics ranged from work troubles to dating woes and finally to Leah's wedding and bachelorette trip.

"So where is the bachelorette trip going to be?" Emily asked as she finished off the last of her pasta.

{if Mountains = 100} "We settled on a trip to the mountains." Samantha said with a smile.

"The mountains?" Emily asked, disappointment in her voice.

"Oh come on Emily it will be fun to get away and into nature." Jennifer said as she finished her merlot.

"I guess." Emily shrugged.

"It will be fun, just us girls and the mountain air." Samantha encouraged her.

"It will be a blast don't worry Emily." Leah said sipping from her Cuba libre. {endif}

{if Beach = 100}

"We settled on a trip to the beach." Samantha said with a smile.

"The beach?" Emily asked, excitement in her voice. "Oh man I can't wait for some fun in the sun. And all the hunks."

"Hunks?" Jennifer laughed as she finished her merlot "I'll just be happy not to burn up."

"It will be wonderful, sand and sun--some drinks and some fun." Samantha said lyrically.

"It will be a blast I love the beach." Leah said sipping from her Cuba libre. {endif}

{if BigCity = 100} "We settled on a trip to the big city." Samantha said with a smile.

"Atlanta?" Emily asked, excitement in her voice. "Well at least it isn't the mountains. I was worried you would want a trip up in the middle of nowhere."

"Atlanta should be fun." Jennifer laughed as she finished her merlot "We could go see the aquarium."

Everyone looked at Jennifer like the tall skinny nerd that she was and laughed. It was a good aquarium, everyone had been before but it wasn't exactly what they had expected from a bachelorette trip. Then again--it couldn't all be drinking every moment.

"It will be wonderful, city shopping and great bars." Samantha said with as grin.

"It will be a blast I haven't been to Atlanta in a while." Leah said sipping from her Cuba libre.{endif}

The conversation went on and the drinks died down. When Emily spoke up.

"So where to next? The club or back to one of our places?" she asked as she signed her check.
