Girlfriend meets the crusher

Chapter 162 by AwesomePossum AwesomePossum

Vi and Erik are making their way out of his dorm room, heading out for lunch at a local burger joint, they chat idly in the elevator, Vi holds Erik’s hand, picking at the calluses on his palm.

The elevator dings and they step out, Vi looks across first, Erik checking out a notification he just got on his phone. She spots the blonde-haired, asymmetrical-cut cute girl at the reception desk, looks over at the couple, blushes, smiles softly on instinct and looks down again, pressing a hand to her mouth as she tries to suppress her joy.

Vi glances at Erik, she’s suspected that this Heidi girl has a crush on Erik, based on everything Erik has said, and the way Heidi seems to fawn over him. Vi smiles to herself, taking a moment to appreciate Erik, he is a handsome boy, and she feels so lucky that other women can see it too. It makes her feel hot by osmosis.

“Wanna go say hi?” Vi asks Erik, jutting her head towards Heidi.

Erik glances up. “Oh yeah. Good idea. I haven’t seen her since the gig.”

The couple walk up to the reception desk, and with every step towards her, her face gets redder and redder.

“Hey Heidi!” Erik says cheerfully. “How are you? I never asked how you turned up after the gig? All good?” Erik motions to Vi. “Oh also, this is my girlfriend, Vi. I don’t think you’ve met properly.”

Vi reaches out and shakes Heidi’s hand gently, Heidi takes a small moment to look at Vi. “Hi…” She says meekly, looking at their joined hands. “Nice to meet you…”

Heidi blushes, subconsciously moving a loose strand of hair behind her ear as she looks up at Erik. “Oh. Hi… Really good, I had so much fun, I slept amazingly that night.” She smiles, her eyes transfixed on Erik, not sparing a thought for Vi, not out of malice, just laser focused on her intense crush. “I woke up so refreshed and feeling good. How about you? Did you sleep okay?”

Erik nods, leaning on the desk. “Yeah, it was great! We’re going to do it again, right?” He asks with a grin.

“Yeah! I’d love that!” Heidi replies, eyes sparkling with excitement. “I’m still so keen to head to the festival together! It’s an overnight one and they’ve already announced some acts!” She leans forward, smiling widely at Erik. “It’s a fun camping kind of festival, we can take a tent and sleeping bags and all that kind of stuff!”

“Oh, that’s so cool.” Vi interjects, glancing between the two. “Have you done that before, babe?”

Heidi seems shocked, looking at Vi for a split second… Did Heidi forget that Vi was there?

Erik replies to his girlfriend. “Nah never. I’ve been to a festival. But it was just for one day, no tents or anything.”

Vi smiles, switching to the off-centred Heidi, she asks her. “Have you been to one of those before? How long have you been into this kind of music?”

Erik doesn’t notice but Vi catches the subtle change in Heidi. From giddy and smiley when talking to him, to a more neutral meek, almost uninterested tone when speaking to her. “Oh. Uhm. No. Some friends have. Since high school… Never really liked pop and stuff… You don’t like this kind of music right?”

Vi smiles, shaking her head, she can’t help but feel a bit annoyed with Heidi and the way she talks to her, she’s trying to be nice to the crushing blonde after all. “Complete opposite music taste from my man unfortunately. I’m really happy he has a friend that enjoys it though.”

Heidi shrinks, eyes casting down and then back towards Erik. Vi hadn’t meant to sound so mean, and she immediately feels bad.

“Well. We’re going to get some lunch, text you later?” Erik says, taking Vi’s hand in his.

Heidi looks down at their hands, and blushes, biting the inside of her lip slightly, she replies with a soft, shy smile. “Bye bye Erik.”

“Nice to meet you, Heidi.” Vi says as they turn.

“You too. Bye.”

As they walk away, Vi tries to be playful, she might’ve felt bad, she needs to remind Heidi who Erik belongs to, so she guides Erik’s hand to her ass, grinning up at him and he smirks at her. She reaches around him and holds his waist, she sneaks a glance behind her towards the receptionist.

Instead of jealousy, or excitement, or playfulness, Heidi just stares at the couple, nothing but sadness on her face. Vi takes a subtle step away from Erik, her turn to blush, feeling double bad. She realises that the crush is a lot more serious than she thought.
