Chapter 6 by Stormdragon19

What does he do first?

Getting a house

"You want it here?" Mira asked Alex as he held up his hand.

"Yup." He replied succinctly. Lucy had gotten hers on her right hand, so he figured why not put his on his left. Mirajine then proceeded to stamp the guild symbol on the back of his hand.

"Check it out, we're guild mates now!" Lucy said as she showed her hand excitedly to Alex, who returned it in kind. Natsu was less impressed though.

"That's nice, Luigi, Alec."

"IT'S LUCY/ALEX!" They replied as they went up to the bar, Natsu heading to the job board.

"So, first day in the guild..." Alex mused, the fact not having sunk in yet. "I was thinking of finding some place to live around here. How about you? Got any plans?" He looked at Lucy as he leaned his back against the bar.

"Well, I'm good for that if you are. But I was hoping to take a job today, own-"

"Please! you have to find him!" A shout from the guild's desk caught both their attention. Seemed a kid named Romeo's dad was a mage, but he hadn't returned from a mission. When Makarov said no, the kid punched him and ran off.

It didn't take long for Natsu to slam the job back into the board that it left a hole. After hearing how Natsu was looking for his missing dad from Mira, a quick look at Lucy's face was all Alex needed to know what she wanted to do.

"Go after him."

"What? But-"

"Don't worry, looking around for a place is easily a one man job. And with Natsu, things should be simple."

Lucy looked pensive before nodding. "Thanks, be back soon!"

A few hours later, Alex was lying in bed at his (and Lucy's) new place. After talking with the landlord about places to live, a little bit of writing was enough to convince her they owned this place (after a bit of resolving the paperwork to help clear it up. It was almost enough to make him regret signing the apartment!).

He'd had some casual conversations, too. Apparently, Mira was a former S-Class wizard, and she taught transformation magic to her guildmates when asked. Alex definitely wanted to learn that magic, not to mention Solid Script. That one was Levy McGarden's specialty, as it turned out. Given his magic revolved around writing, it would be a good idea to pick it up at some point.

A knock on the door made him sit up from his contemplations, getting up even as the door opened. Lucy stepped in, waving hi. "We saved Macao!" She said with a thumbs up. Alex gave one in return. "Knew you two could do it. Let me give you the tour." He said in an overly dramatic manner, sweeping his arm about the apartment.
