Getting Settled

The next few days pass by like a blur. You find yourself being quickly integrated into a group you never asked to join, but you feel so lost and overwhelmed you can't really complain. After Adam's complaints about you being too unfit to help with the 'hunting' part of monster hunting, something you can't exactly dispute, you find yourself acting as Celeste's helper. It's hard at first, while Celeste is certainly kind she's also a bit spacey and doesn't seem to remember you have no experience with anything going on right now at times. In spite of this you work dutifully, mostly bringing her things stashed around the house that she needs and monitoring your two patients when she's fine.

The 'Isabelle' mentioned is another one of the group's hunters, apparently injured in the same attack by Jenny. Celeste had managed to bring her here and had been looking after her ever since, both her and Jack were stable now and would even be awake for periods of time which led to some lengthy explanations as to who you were. The two of them were noticeably **** to you than Adam was, although the fact that you were their acting nurse now was likely part of that. Allegra and Adam spent most of their time talking, including to Jack when he was awake, or planning for something so you never had the time to ask Allegra about her bracelets. Lucas had been busy making whatever a chemist makes for monster hunters, so your only companion for days was Celeste. One day when you were fetching a herb from a bedroom you couldn't help but ask.

"So Allegra said you can use magic?" For some reason even with everything you saw in the house it feels stupid to say. Sure, maybe all kinds of monsters were real, but was this girl really some kind of witch? She stops working on a necklace and smiles.

"A little. I never finished my training, I mostly just make these little charms. It's the least I can do to help Jack and his friends." You remember Allegra talking about Celeste back in the car, that same sense of gratitude is in Celeste's voice here.

"How did you meet Allegra anyways? She was kind of vague earlier..." Celeste turns her eyes to you and you can see her thinking about how to answer.

"We...saved her from a dangerous situation. I healed her so I guess she feels like she owes me, I wish she didn't. I'm happy enough having a friend my age." The last bit is said in a somewhat suggestive way, you get the feeling she wanted to say 'friends' instead. You'd be lying if you said she wasn't growing on you but you still feel like a stranger in the group.

"Well Celeste you can always-" You're interrupted by something.
