Of course, securing the Northside deal got you a head-start with those in attendance, but you can't simply rest on your laurels. By the day's end, you've dozens of business cards in your pocket, several meetings lined up, and a couple of deals in the pipeline. You've made quite the impression, and are even invited out for post-conference drinks at one of the most exclusive establishments in the city. Gemma lets you go of course, and heads back to the hotel to wait for your return. Even though she has all the control, for all outward appearances she is just your secretary and couldn't possibly accompany you.

The rest of the night is filled with lots of expensive whiskey and ridiculous food. Apparently, this is where the real deals are made, when the professional facade comes down and you can all speak candidly. The environment is hyper-masculine, with not a single woman in sight, which makes you think about the state of your profession. How ironic it is that Gemma has been pulling all the strings at your office for some time now. You manage to close a few 'handshake' deals - with nothing set in stone but with personal assurances from execs from some of the biggest firms that you know have a reputation for following through. It's close to three in the morning by the time you drunkenly make your way back to the hotel via taxi, and you find that Gemma has gone to bed in her own room, leaving you to sleep alone, with your loins stirring for the first time in hours.
