Gertrude? What is this some kinda cliche

"Umm, maybe uh, maybe Gertrude?" he said hesitantly. Instantly regretting his decision.

"What...? Really?" She said as she looked at Jack like she was kind of afraid of what he was going to say next.

Maybe he could play it off as a joke, "I'm joking of course I'm joking gimme a break, " he said trying to be casual.

She giggles a little, "Fine Jack one more guess, and don't waste it," she said. She didn't wink, but if she did it wouldn't have been amiss.

"Okay ummm..." he thought to himself, "I'm gonna go with Michelle, Michelle Ambers." he said confidently.

"Final guess?" she replied

"Yes ma'm," he said

"Michelle is incorrect, no prize for you," she said smirking. She seemed to really like teasing Jack. He didn't mind being teased by her either.

"So you're just not going to tell me what you're name is then?"

"Nope, sorry."

"Well can I at least know what the prize was?"

"I was going to exempt you from the homework," she said as she got up from the desk next to Jacks and walked back towards her own. "But if you bring it back tomorrow and its 100% correct I'll tell you what my name is." she said as she sat down.

"Alright then, you got a deal," he said standing up, getting his things together and walking towards the door. "Bye Ms. Ambers, see you tomorrow, " there was a slight pause, "You really do look great by the way."

She smiled like a smitten teenager, although trying her best to hide it. "Thank you Jack, you're very sweet."

Jack smiled back and left the classroom.
