“Gengar, go!”

Gengar!? Isn’t that a g-g-g-ghost!?

The new pokemon is completely concealed in darkness, but that doesn’t stop Golduck from being scared, almost like it can feel the ghost’s presence.

“Uh, Golduck, use Amnesia!”

A ghost in the darkness is way too scary! All you can do is try to defend.

Ruthlessly, your opponent orders, “Gengar, Shadow Ball.”

Gengar is silent in the darkness, but its attack is faster than either of the pokemon before it. Even while trying to defend itself, Golduck is ambushed from the side and takes a devastating attack.

“Golduck, use Confusion!”

Golduck launches its attack in the direction that the Shadow Ball came from, but Gengar is no longer there. It’s no surprise that Golduck would have trouble hitting a target it can’t see, especially when that target seems so fast…

This time, the Rocket boss doesn’t even have to command her pokemon. Gengar simply launches another Shadow Ball from a different direction, rendering Golduck unable to fight.

“Next pokemon, girl” the woman demands. “You’ve gotten me this invested, so don’t disappoint me. I won’t be satisfied until I’ve crushed your pride, spirit, and dreams!”

That’s what “invested” sounds like!? She’s just as scary as her Gengar! The problem, though, is that the only pokemon you have left is Onix. He’s not gonna fit in this place. Will he even come out…?

“Onix, g-”

A loud crash suddenly interrupts your battle. The two lights which were focused on the battlefield drop to the ground and roll without guidance.

The woman snaps, “Hey, what are you two doing!? What-”

There’s the sound of a brief struggle, followed by another smash.

“Emilia, are you okay?” That voice… it’s Professor Stump!
