Gargo

Most Gargos that are encountered are solitary males. They are generally peaceful, and usually seek to be left alone. They typically wear almost no clothing as their thick skin provides natural resistance to cold, and most do not see the purpose of modesty. As a result, they tend to only wear belts with large pouches to carry their personal possessions and very little else. However, some have been known to travel great distances and a few have even become spacefarers, donning giant-sized spacesuits when necessary. It's common for the Gargo to enter into simple trade agreements with other races, typically offering to lend use of their strength and size for food and shelter. They have unusually long sleep periods which often exceed their waking time by a factor of 2 to 3 times in duration. They are also known to snore very loudly.

Body type: Giant humanoid. Most are bipeds with 1 head, 2 arms and 2 legs. However, due to their unique regenerative abilities, it's possible for them to grow additional limbs or more than one head as a result of injuries.

Appearance: Gargo have a range of skin and hair colors. Most have light or tanned skin, but grey or dark brown variations are possible. Hair color is usually very dark brown or black, though a few have been observed with red hair. Males are between 5 to 6 meters (16 to 20 feet) tall. Females are even larger, standing between 7 to 8 meters (23 to 26 feet) in height. Their hair is usually unkempt, and they seldom bathe. Their pungent odor can be detected from great distances.

Physical abilities: Regeneration, extremely high strength, very high endurance and pain threshold, resistance to cold, slow reaction times

Growth rate: Gargos mature slowly, usually taking at least 30 years to reach maturity.

Lifespan: Due to their regenerative abilities, Gargos can live for hundreds of years.

Intelligence: Below average to average. Most consider Gargos to be dull-witted, as they tend to react slowly and take a long time before answering even simple questions. However, this isn't necessarily due to being stupid, but rather it's a side-effect of their body's slower metabolism. When they do speak, they usually give thoughtful and insightful responses. They appreciate humor, art and music, though most other races find their artistic skills to be somewhat crude and primitive. Due to their large size, they have difficulty with fine details on smaller works, but when viewed at greater distances, their larger artworks can be rather impressive.

Sexual Characteristics: About 90% of Gargo are male. As a result, it's typical for a female Gargo to have a harem of several males. Although some animals have bigger ones, male Gargos boast the largest penis of the known sentient species. Their organ typically ranges between 0.6 to 0.9 meters (2 to 3 feet) in length, and up to 15 cm (6 inches) in diameter. In their lower abdomen, they also have a pair of unusually large seminal glands, each capable of producing up to 4 liters (1 gallon) of semen per day. Female Gargos have an unusual vagina that includes multiple openings (usually 2, but sometimes even more), and allows for vaginal sex with multiple male giants simultaneously. Seasonal mating rituals typically feature a single female Gargo engaging in intercourse with multiple males at once. It can take several hours or even days for the mating ritual to finally be completed. Afterward, it is common for the males and female to fall into a deep slumber that can last for several more days.

Dangers: Due to their size and strength, Gargo can be very dangerous if the area is not prepared. Their slow reaction times makes it difficult for them to avoid clumsily stumbling and possibly damaging or breaking things in the process. Fortunately, Gargo are slow to anger as well, so it's generally possible to reason with them before things turn violent.

Additional details: Due to their regenerative abilities, their blood and various body parts are sometimes sought for medicinal uses or organ-splicing. Their hair can be woven into strong rope.
