Gambit is having a bit of a bad starting hand

Gambit fell down the trapdoor shaft, landing and rolling, carrying his momentum to avoid injury, quickly standing up as he came to a stop. Though Gambit somehow stood up with a level of style you wouldn't expect of a man who has just rolled in the dirt two seconds before. He also somehow kept his hair perfect, which you thought would have been ruined but somehow wasn't.

"Just as always, good old Gambit keeps his style just as Mama taught him." Gambit said as he gave himself a once-over before looking around the room. Once he began to look around and see where he landed up, he was surprised to see he was in one giant rock pile with boulders all over the place. Gambit didn't see anyone and was wondering who was facing when he felt himself being covered in someone else's shadow.

"Well, look like I get to squish a pretty boy, don't I?" Slab said with a chuckle as he brought a huge fist down where Gambit had been standing; luckily the move was so telegraphed that Gambit was able to dodge easily; otherwise, considering the fist had dug three feet into solid concrete, Gambit would have been a goner.

Gambit looked up to Slab taking him in totally, and he didn't like what he saw. Slab had the ability to make himself bigger and denser than he actually was, becoming a bigger and bigger giant to deal with any threat. Gambit figured the choice of a boulder room was to give Slab plenty of boulders to throw at him, which he quickly proved right.

Gambit had to tack out his special battle staff and extend it to his full length so he could use it to pull vault across the room as a barrage of boulders were thrown his way. Soon enough, Gambit was putting on a demonstration for the Olympic medal as he used the staff to maneuver around as Slab sent boulder after boulder. Sadily for Gambit, even when he missed the initial boulders, they were thrown with such **** that they shattered, causing a shower of shrapnel to go in all directions.

Just as Gambit was finding his rhythm with dodging and was about to try and come up with a plan, he saw Slab, who was right in front of him. It seemed while Gambit was focused on the boulders coming from above, Slab had come straight at him. So Gambit has a few seconds to use his battle staff to spin around in an attempt to dodge as Slabs fist came right at him.

Luckily for Gambit, he didn't take Slab's giant fist directly, though he did take a stray knuckle, which sent him flying. So for a few precious moments on the opposite end of the room from where he was with what he guessed were broken ribs, Gambit lay on the floor in pain. But as Gambit heard the heavy footsteps of Slab closing in, he knew he had to do something.

So Gambit lay there, making full use of his sleight of hand skills to do something without being noticed by Slab. Slowly Slab closed the distance, his feet stepping down sounding like small earthquakes as he walked over to Gambit, wanting him to stew in his fear and pain before he crushed him under foot. Eventually Slabs walked and ended up founding himself, standing over Gambit once again.

"While now I step in, you pretty boy. We'll see how pretty you are as a pancake, won't we?" Slab said with a sadistic chuckle before bringing his foot up to bring it down on Gambit, but before he could, Gambit made his move. Gambit quickly threw several pebbles that had been created from slabs of boulder throwing at him, which he had filled with special purple energy, causing them to explode on impact.

Slab let out a scream of pain as he tipped over from having his knee blown up; luckily, he was dense enough for the explosion not to do enough damage. "Your gonna pay for." Slab started to say before he was stopped as Gambit followed up by throwing another storm of pebble-infused explosives at Slab's face, knocking him out.

"Well, I guess that's a winning hand." Gambit said with a smug smile before he started thinking about if he'd have to lug Slab in his current giant size. Luckily, just as his smug smile began to falter, the **** Slab began to shrink, causing Gambit to let out a relieved sigh.

"Well, I guess the only thing I know is to figure out a way out of here." Gambit said, eyeing the walls, wondering where the door was. Just then, a part of the wall moved and a door was revealed. "Well, guess it time to get moving and get back to the two-time timing, southern belle." Gambit said with bitterness as he lugged slab over his shoulder and made his way out.
