From dusk, to almost dawn

I woke up hearing footsteps in my room, I wasn't in danger, because those were my sister's footsteps, but somehow my body was always vigilant should something happen. After some time, when you don't get enough sleep in basic training, your body starts to react to that, you start to be highly alert in your sleep, while at the same time capable of falling asleep in a minute's notice no matter what happens around you. I slept dozen meters from a firing howitzer, just because we had ten minutes before rolling out, and I slept like a baby through all of these ten minutes. But you also had to be able to wake up and be ready and dressed in less than a minute, a very hard feat that took me many months to perfect. If because of an enemy attack, a start of a shelling, or just because it's your turn in guard duty and was customary to be early by a few minutes to not leave your mate hanging.

Now I had no use for this skill of mine, but it was very hard to shake off. "It's not even dawn and you're home, did something didn't go as planned?" I asked my sister as she got out of her sandals and threw her dress on the floor. "No, but he had to run to catch some flight to china" She said as she lifted the blanket and threaded her long leg beneath it. "Scoot to the side, you're taking the whole bed" she growled at me, as I had to make some room for her. "I'm surprised you are alone as well, did something didn't go as planned with you?" She asked as she slipped entirely under the covers. "Stephanie disappeared and I noticed I didn't have her number, you made it quite clear you weren't free to provide it, so yeah, a bit of a shame." I answered while taking back the pillow she took from under my face. "What about that latina? She was pretty hot." she said as she again stole the same pillow, making me dive face first to the mattress. "The Captain? She's nice, but she is taken, not to mention my boss" This time I secured the pillow beneath me, applying my full weight on it so Helena couldn't steal it again. "pffft... I saw how thrilled you were when you discovered she is your new boss. You're going to be a nice little ****, aren't you? Who's a good boy?" She said while pinching my cheek, "Fuck off, and go take a shower, you stink" I returned.

Helena scoffed in fake surprise, and then proceeded "Anyway, I saw how you were flirting with her, you two almost looked as if you were about to fuck right the in the park". "Sometimes I wonder if you work for the CIA or something, sure, I felt it was leaning in that direction. Anyway, where were you if you saw it? I didn't see you after you went for drinks" Be it for one of her schemes or for some other use, my sister could get any information she needed. "I was on one of the rooftops, had a man eat me out in the cool summer breeze. You should try it sometimes." I could hear the sting there somewhere. "What, have a man eat me out on some rooftop? Sorry, I'll pass. Anyway, good night I'm going back to sleep. Take a shower if you decide to stay" she laughed as I said it. "Good night, asshole" she returned as I closed my eyes and drifted away.
