Friendly introductions.

"Hi", I said nervously, stepping out from behind the rock. The trident seemed awfully sharp.

As they looked me over, they visibly relaxed. "You look new," one said.

I nodded. "And I'm lost. I've only been here a while and I don't know... well, anything..."

The octopus girl smiled kindly. "Well, sit down and we'll give you a bit of food."

I smiled gratefully, and sat and rested as they went about their business setting up camp. The blue girl pulled her jeans back on with a casual ease that implied she quite enjoyed me seeing her naked. The octopus girl retrieved a sack from under a rock, and began cutting up the thing's corpse, while the blue girl gathered some driftwood and made a fire. She lit it by making a blue flame appear over her hand, and then holding it to the wood until it caught. Then, we sat around the fire as she cooked pieces of the creature that had attacked her on a skewer. When she handed a crisp warm chunk to me, I was nervous, but biting into it I founded it was very good, like fried squid. There was just a hint of a taste which could have been the blue girl's juices.

After we ate, we traded introductions. The blue girl was called Lucy, and the octopus girl whose fine little breasts I'd been surreptitiously ogling was Vona. Nervously, I asked the obvious question.

"What's with the..." I trailed off, making a vague wavy gesture to indicate her tentacles.

She laughed at my embarrassment. "Everyone in hell changes the longer they stay here. For most, its stuff like you and Lucy: horns, wings, tails. But me... well, when I was alive I pretended to be a boy to get a berth as a sailor. And I ended up fucking half the crew to make them keep the secret. Anyway, I've always loved the sea, and when the ship went down in a storm, I ended up here."

"Vona and I have been working together for a while," Lucy added. "The things out in the sea can be pretty dangerous, but a lot of them love the taste of pussy. So, I act as bait, making sure there's plenty to lure them, and when they come to get their rocks off, Vona leaps out and stabs them. Then we sell the meat. Best way to fish around here."

I smiled as the conversation continued, but inside I couldn't help but worry at how strange everything was here. I wondered what I would do...
