Friend to Husband

"You may now kiss the husband."

You **** yourself to stop reminiscing as you pull Bob's face to your own.

It was exactly one year since the morning that you had professed your love for each other. Now, to mark that anniversary you had decided to get married. The church was mostly empty - most of your friends and relatives had been disgusted when you had told them, and none wanted to show up. None besides Mike and Tony, two of your more open-minded friends who had agreed to celebrate with you.

Bob tries pulling away after a long minute, but you hold him firm. You need some time. Some time to think back to the first kiss you had shared in the bedroom. To think about the relief you had felt when Bob kissed back. To think of all the sneaking around you had done the months after, too afraid to tell anyone that you were now more than friends. You knew how they would react.

You're confident you made the right decision, though, and allow yourself to break the kiss, gazing into Bob's handsome face. It had definitely all been worth it, if only for him. After tonight, with a giant 'fuck you', you were going to move to another state where you would start life anew. Well, maybe after tomorrow. It depends on how sore Bob'll be.
