Freeing the hunted

The data on the flash drive turned out to be invaluable. It detailed Fisk's dealings with Kraven & Cheetah, as well as the location where the hunters were holding their captured quarry. It was underground, in a large abandoned subway station that had been thought to be sealed up years ago.

"Oh, this is good," Gwen smirked as she read through the notes. "We find a way to bust everyone out of that station, we totally turn the tables on Kraven & Cheetah. Might even draw them out."

"If we're really lucky, we might even find one or both of 'em there," Selina added.

"Don't get too cocky. This won't be easy," Laura cautioned. "Don't forget that Sabretooth is still out there, too."

"Laura's right... and he's seriously leveled up," Gwen said. "Still, we pull this off, and we might be able to finally stop this insanity. At the very least, it's a huge step in the right direction."

"Agreed," Laura said. "Just remember what we're walking into. Unless you want your head mounted on a hunter's wall, remember to keep it on a swivel."

Before long, the five women had reached the tunnels that led to the old subway station. It was surprisingly well-hidden, having been sealed up for years.

"How many hidden underground lairs are there in this city?" Selina pondered.

"I stopped counting after my twentieth," Gwen answered. "I'm guessing it's the same thing in Gotham..."

"You're not wrong," Selina admitted. "Hell, it's probably even worse."

"We're getting close. I can sense it," Laura said, leading the group deeper into the tunnels. "Stay alert, ladies."

The group managed to sneak their way into the station, where Kraven & Cheetah had indeed been holding their prisoners. Metahumans, ranging from the Human Torch to King Shark, were being held in stasis pods, unable to move or respond.

"Looks like our hunters are keeping everyone alive. That's good," Cassie noted. "Probably to preserve them as trophies."

"I'm guessing those pods are hooked up to some kind of a central power unit," Gwen surmised. "If we shut it down and free everyone..."

"...All hell would break loose," Selina finished her sentence. "I like the way you think, Spider. No wonder Felicia's been chasing you all this time."

"You do realize she's mine, right?" Cassie smirked.

Selina chuckled. "Yeah, I know. But I also know you don't mind sharing..."

"Tell you what... I'll keep sharing my girlfriend with you if you keep sharing yours with me," Cassie offered.

"Deal," Selina shot back immediately. "So what's the plan?"

"We free everyone, and use the chaos as cover to see if we can find our hunters... good thinking, Spider."
