Four-eyed fiancée

You didn't know ghosts could sleep, or that they needed sleep. You didn't ponder this much while you were asleep, but if you did you probably would've thought that they didn't sleep because they seem to make all their trouble at night.

And then you woke. You were surprised to find that both Yvette and Jane were gone. Somehow, either you fell out of Jane's body, or she **** you out, but you existed as a ball of energy once more, hovering directly above the bed. Well, this wouldn't do, you wanted to know what was going on! Being the intangible being that you are, your first instinct was to simply move down. Your essence traveled effortlessly through the floorboards, through the dusty ancient vents and crawlspaces that existed between the levels of the mansion, before you found yourself hovering along the ceiling in a room filled with ancient swords and knives. This seemed like a dangerous room to be in... good thing you weren't a physical being at the moment. You drifted out toward the hallway, and immediately spotted Jane talking with another staff member, Alice, in the hall.

And she was wearing a very familiar set of glasses.

You drifted closer, not at all stealthy in your approach, and your normally peppy girlfriend smiled at you with Emilia's reserved, calm demeanor. "Ah, hello John. I think Jane wanted this to be a surprise, but I suppose it's too late now."

You drifted around Jane's body, in sheer curiosity--and a bit of jealousy that Emilia now controlled your girlfriend instead of you. "Just how in the world did this come about?" you asked.

Jane adjusted her glasses as she looked upward in thought. "Well... you fell asleep, and then Jane woke up about ten minutes later when I was planning to get Yvette back to her own quarters for the night. The battery life on these neural harnesses can be abysmal, and she would have likely felt quite awkward to have her full faculties back in the middle of the night. Besides, I don't want to sleep with glasses on." She motions for Alice to head over to handle another task as she turns more toward you, putting her hands on her hips.

"Anyway, before I left, Jane talked to me while you rested. She wanted the opportunity to work on my staff, particularly stating she was interested in the triple-salary option for those who are subject to my experiments. In fact, she outright volunteered for them! None of the other staff had done that. I can't let willing participants like that slip through my fingers, so we wrote up a contract this morning, after she focused enough to **** you out of the body. You were lodged in there pretty tightly, but she had just enough willpower to **** you out as long as you were unable to fight back."

You would have frowned if you could, but this bespectacled girlfriend option opened up some new possibilities... "So, she's going to be spending more time at the mansion, then?"

"Oh, eventually," Jane said, in Emilia's manner of speaking. "Her starting assignment for me is to help me test the distance on these neural harnesses. Your apartment is on the other side of the city, which is an excellent starting point. That means I will be able to test data fidelity over a longer range for my device, and I can directly check in with you throughout your spectral duration."

You paused. Emilia lived in a mansion. It felt like you were going to need to clean up before she would see it. "Okay, so... you're going to occasionally be my... girlfriend."

Jane smiled and winked. "I think I can make it worth your while. Your fiancée is the embodiment of chaos, I can help provide you a much calmer experience on occasion. Although, if you would prefer I didn't put this body to good use and instead kept things purely professional..."

"No no, nothing like that! Just... it's a surprise."

Jane nodded. "I wouldn't have expected a few days ago to hire on Jane, I will be perfectly candid about that. She does not typically fit the profile of my ideal staff. It is purely her willingness to be part of these experiments that I am rather interested in bringing her on board. So likely she will participate in a lot of similar things like the remote work--I will find that infinitely more valuable than asking her to do my dry cleaning."

You couldn't think of what else to say. It was so strange to see your girlfriend behaving in such a reserved, professional manner. Although, you did notice she seemed to spend a lot of time adjusting her sizable breasts in front of you...

"Anyway, John. Shall we head to your place? I would like to test the neural harness while in transit, so Alice will drive you as well as this body back. And then I will remain connected to Jane until the battery dies. I anticipate probably a four hour lifespan before the devices need to be charged." She removes those glasses briefly, holding the lenses facing her form, trailing down her body, holding it close to certain parts and features of your girlfriend's form, before sliding the glasses back on. "...oh, sorry, I wanted to get a closer look at her body. These devices are so flexible in how they are used, it's quite useful."

"Okay, so..." You drifted around Jane to emphasize your own dilemma. "I don't have a body at the moment, I'd be much more comfortable in one."

Jane nodded thoughtfully, putting her hands on her hips--possibly lightly squeezing her ass, you suspected. "Save for Alice since she'll be driving, you could borrow one of my staff temporarily to get home. At your place, however, would there possibly be friends or family who might be able to assist you with sharing a body while I borrow Jane's? Or you could simply be as you are during the times when I am testing the remote connection. But it would be easier to interview you on your spectral progression if I connected while you were in a separate body. Jane said she might have some suggestions, as well. And of course, she is all yours when I am not connected, or if the connection is poor. But I'll be upgrading the battery and transmitters over time, so that would be only a minor setback. At some point I would plan to be able to spend a full day in her body on a single charge."

While this was a bit of a wrench in the works, but you could see some advantages if you were in another good body and Emilia decided to drop in. It was almost like you would have two women in one, each wanting to do things differently! And while you had a fairly normal sex life with Jane, it seemed Emilia would be very, very eager to test that body out in the bedroom as well...
