Following Doom

Midnight on the second night. 50 soldiers had been made, hopefully it will be enough, Doom isn't willing to spend any more time. He stands and goes off to find Cara and Kasi. They'd been busy with their own preparations. Later they are all gathered in the courtyard. They each chose some warriors to accompany them and Doom gives them command of 25 of the creations each.

They nod and Doom watches them leave. He isn't worried about them. Once they are gone he gathers up the rest of his troops. Vox, Belleza, Gitta and the newly turned Ursa and Olivia. Under cover of darkness they leave through the town. Celli was left in the cells, which is unfortunate, there's no time for her, but it does mean she'll likely be rescued once the plan is fully underway. Still that just means Doom will be able to find her again later once Alms Amour is his.

Things turned out better than had been hoped for in fact. The night was very dark, a new moon sits in the sky so there is no moonlight and the light of the stars only illuminates the sky above. Doom reaches Kia Marun, The city of Peaceful Prosperity apparently shortly before dawn. The night is almost gone and so there's no time left. Doom and the rest hold back as Ursa and Olivia are sent forward.

Olivia reaches the walls of the city and is spotted by the guards.

"Who goes there?" the guards ask and Olivia speaks.

"I am Olivia Laurent, daughter of Martin Laurent. I have urgent news for the city's regent!" she announces.

There's hesitation and then after a few moments the gates open and Olivia and Ursa enter. Once inside Olivia heads for the regent's palace while Ursa splits off and heads for the guards on the walls. One by one she takes out the guards and opens the gates. As the sun rises over the city Doom and his troops enter unopposed.

It's not long after that the alarm is raised however, but now Doom and his followers are already inside. As guards rush to meet them, Doom tells Vox to keep Belleza and Gitta healed, she doesn't need to be told not to heal him this time and then the fight starts. The guards are stronger than the ones in the stronghold or the town connected to it, but they're still no match for Doom's raw power. Even Belleza fights, she's a sorceress, but she doesn't seem very effective, still she does her part. When Ursa joins up with Doom and the others the fight is essentially over. No guards stand a chance against them. They head towards the regent's palace.

Upon arriving at the steps that lead up to the palace a figure exits the front gate. They're wearing a suit of gleaming white plate mail and carrying a halberd. Their head is covered entirely in a full helm and they lower the halberd threateningly. Doom tells the others to stand back and approaches, "Let me guess. You're the guard captain of Kia Marun, here to perform your brave last stand against the invaders? Your cause is already lost. Behind you our agent has already infiltrated and your regent is probably dead or captured," Doom explains, though he is unsure if this is true, he doubts Olivia could actually take the regent by herself, though with no foreknowledge about the regent it could be possible. Regardless the armored soldier doesn't respond, "lay down your weapon and I'll let you live," He tries again and the soldier remains unresponsive, "fine then..." he states and fires a rock lance at the knight and is surprised when they simply slap it away with their halberd and then leap forward, slamming the halberd down towards him. He dodges back instinctively and swipes his hand out at them, they duck under the swipe and slam the pole of the halberd into his stomach, the blow does little damage, but he feels strangely winded by it momentarily, the effect vanishes immediately though and he hears a sound like bells, the knight twirls the halberd and tries to slam the axe head into his face, but he catches the pole and snaps it before slamming his fist into the knight's gut, hard enough to break right through the armor, a gasp of pain and surprise escapes from under the helm and then he reaches up and tears the helm off of their head, revealing a woman with short chin length brown hair, dark skin and brown coloured eyes. She looks up at him with hatred, her teeth grit against the pain.

The bells was the sound of angelic protection triggering and Doom realizes, this woman had just tried to use a status effect on him. "This bitch..." he mutters angrily and grabs the broken pole arm before grabbing her and slamming her against the wall of the palace. His tentacles lash out from his hands tearing her armor from her as she struggles, trying to grab and bat them away to no avail. Soon she's fully stripped and pinned. The inside of the regents palace is quite fancy. Doom can only imagine how much fancier the capital palace might be. The entire place seems to be made out of finely carved sandstone. The entrance hall is large with a massive staircase heading up to the regents office and side areas that lead to various bedrooms or other rooms. Doom heads up to the office and upon entering he finds Olivia and The Regent. The two seem to have indeed been fighting. Olivia's clothes are torn and she's in the middle of healing a large burn on her arm. The Regent meanwhile is sitting on her desk looking quite pleased and unbothered. She's a woman with light blond hair, fair skin, blue eyes and wearing a large light blue witch's hat and a light blue cape over a white leotard, the tight leotard almost perfectly outlining her ample breasts. She glances over as Doom enters and she speaks.

"Are you the one who corrupted my dear friend, Olivia?" she asks casually.

"I am... and I'm going to do the same to you," Doom responds and she laughs.

"You're rather confident aren't you?" she asks with an amused grin and points her other hand at him which also begins to glow with fire.

"Your city has fallen. You're the only opposition left, you might as well give up," he tells her, though in actuality he realizes he is not in the best position, the regent is a sorceress and one who seemingly specializes in fire, an element he's weak against.

"Who cares, I can easily beat anything you throw at me. I'll take my city back single handedly. I am The Sun Mage! Scourer of the Dark. The greatest witch of all!" she announces proudly.

"I thought Citrinas was the most powerful?" Doom responds and her eyes narrow.

"Citrinas was a fucking joke! She'd still be a weakling if the hero hadn't chosen her on a whim! It's not fair! I was stronger than her, I was the Light's chosen, but that fucking brat got all the power in the world all because some random bitch from another world thought she was cuter!" The Regent roars. It's clear a nerve had been touched.

"If you're the Light’s chosen, why do you use fire? Shouldn't you be using light magic?" Doom presses and she hesitates.

"Th... That's because I like Fire! It burns, besides... The Sun is made out of fire!" she answers and it's obvious he had hit another nerve.

"You can't use light magic can you?" he accuses and her response tells him he's correct as she explodes in anger.

"How dare you make such an insinuation! I am the chosen of the Light! Of course I can use Light Magic!" she screams, jumping off of her desk and focusing both her hands now on him.

"Then do it. A single spell of light magic from you would probably kill me," he informs her and she hesitates.

"Th... that would be too easy!" She covers quickly and Doom steps towards her. Out of the corner of his eye he sees Olivia has finished healing her burn.

"You're weak. You've only ever mastered fire haven't you? That's why Citrinas was picked over you. I bet she could actually use more than one element, she wasn't some uppity one trick pony like yo-" he starts to taunt her and she screeches and tries to blast him with fire. Olivia, who had been ordered telepathically to wait for this moment, grabs her arms and turns them away, her fire blasts hitting the wall instead and Doom moves forward grabbing both her hands in one hand and **** them above her head, lifting her into the air and his other hand wraps around her throat and begins to squeeze. Her eyes flicker with terror as she feels herself unable to breathe. Her hands desperately light up again with fire, but she can't aim them at him. She could hit the ceiling and cause it to cave in or melt, but she'd hit herself as well if she did that. She's probably immune to fire, but the falling rock, molten or not would be a problem for her. Doom's grip tightens and her left eye closes as she feels her windpipe being crushed. Her legs kick desperately at him, but they don't hurt him at all. He slams her down onto her desk and she lets out a choked cry of pain from the impact.

Tentacles begin to worm out of Doom's hands, slithering over her skin and she shakes and writhes trying to get them off, but they continue to worm over her until one reaches her mouth and forces itself into her mouth and down her throat. She gags and chokes violently as the tentacle pushes into her esophagus, but the tentacle just pushes deeper. Hopefully Cara and Kasi finished their parts of the plan and will arrive soon enough.
