Follow the path to other cottages

Taking the map the headmistress provided you, you step out of your cabin and reorient yourself. To your right lie other cottages, and beyond them the athletic fields. To your left the student residential building and the faculty building. Another path to your left would return you to the main building, and past that a theatre. There are a few smaller buildings on the map with no identification. You assume maintenance or storage buildings.

After a moment's thought you turn right, heading down a wandering path towards the other cottages. You're impressed by the landscape design, which gives each cottage privacy although they are relatively close together. From your own cottage, you could barely see the others, and as you walk you see that each cottage give the appearance of being similarly isolated.

You are musing on the events of the morning and Ms. Naylor's attitude as you stroll, enjoying the fresh air and the dappled shade of the path, when you hear a door shut ahead of you. A moment later a woman steps into view, obviously having emerged from one of the cottages.

She doesn't see you at first, her attention locked on her phone as she texts, giving you a chance to look at her. She's about your age, with short black hair streaked with grey. She's wearing cargo shorts and a plaid shirt, a pair of running shoes on her feet. She seems to be amused or possibly amused and disgusted by what she's reading on her phone, and utterly unaware of your presence.
