Chapter 36 by reaper13 reaper13

Wake up Kendra? Follow him? Sleep there with her?

Follow him

Liandra was too curious to what Kendal was up to. She chased after him through the castle halls. He was pretty damn fast, but she was faster.

She followed him to some sort of workshop. There were many pieces of equipment to be found all around. Liandra wondered how anybody could work in here.

Kendal appeared to have no problem with the place however. He summoned shadowy tentacles from his back which searched the scrap heap for pieces and tools. These tentacles put the iron plates together and forged them into one piece. Liandra noticed one tool with a fire mana crystal Kendal was using was responsible for melting the pieces of metal onto each other.

Once he had finished, Liandra could see it was a weird chair with a helmet attached to it.

?The basic structure is finished.? Kendal said.

?So ? what does it do?? Liandra asked him.

?Nothing now. I first need to make a power source for it.?

Kendal closed his eyes and held his hands together. He concentrated. Liandra realized he was about to use magic.

Two liquid streams of black magical energy came from Kendals palms. When they met, the began to swirl around each other. They were pushed together until they condensed into a crystalline form. As Kendal kept feeding more dark magic into it, the black crystal kept growing bigger.

?So this is how the manacrystals are created.? Liandra realized. ?Kendal can make them himself. Did he invent them??

Once the crystal was as big as a fist, Kendal slowly opened his eyes. Liandra had not seen such a serious expression on him before. She got scared.

Kendal smoothed up the crystal until it was flawless, then stopped feeding energy to it.

?This is it, Liandra.? Kendal said as he inserted the crystal into the machine. ?You?re about to see a new invention come into existence.?

Once the crystal was inserted, six black spidery legs came out of its sides.

?Would you like to take a seat?? Kendal asked Liandra.

?Oh ? no ? I wouldn?t ?? Liandra stuttered.

?It?s fine, don?t worry about it.? Kendal said. One of the black tentacles from Kendals back snatched Liandra up and placed her on the chair. Liandra tried to protest but had the helmet put onto her. She thought about going forward to get out of the chair, but the chair?s legs suddenly began to move.

Liandra became scared and wanted to remain still, so the chair stopped.

?This is weird.? Liandra thought to herself.

When she thought about turning around, the chairs legs moved again, Slowly turning around and facing Kendal.

?Pretty neat, isn?t it?? He asked her.

?So, this chair will make any movement I think it should do??

?At least for as long as the mana crystal powers up the legs. Once the power is up, the legs will disappear.? Kendal explained.

It was quite an interesting invention, but Liandra had enough of it. She stepped out of the chair and walked over to Kendal.

?So wha are you going to use it for?? Liandra asked the emperor.

?I don?t know yet. I?m sure I?ll find a reason for it soon.?

?How about making some for people who have lost their legs. With this they?ll be able to walk again.? Liandra offered.

?That is a great idea. You really are a most wonderful person.? Kendal told her.

Liandra blushed. He was the genius here, being such a skilled mage, creating inventions, even making mana crystals out of nothing. Yet she was being praised. Why was her heart suddenly fluttering so much?

When she looked back at Kendal she saw him smiling back at her. She didn?t realize he was so close. When she looked into his eyes she felt herself moving closer to him.

Should she kiss him?
