What's next?
First mistake
Izzy settles into the position Marcus described, arms stretched above her head, knees bent, feet flat on the sheets. The pink dress has bunched high around her hips, and she feels the cool air against her thighs, but her focus stays on his directions.
"So, do you think Joe's gonna actually like this one?" she asks, her voice light and casual. "Or am I just making a fool of myself in front of his roommate?"
Marcus chuckles, adjusting the angle of his phone. "You're doing fine. Seriously, you've got a natural eye for posing. Most people freeze up, but you're just... comfortable."
She lets out a soft laugh. "Comfortable? I feel like I'm about to vibrate out of my skin. But I guess that's a good thing, right? Means I'm not overthinking it."
"You're definitely not overthinking it," Marcus says, snapping another photo. "That's a good thing. You're just in the moment."
She tilts her head, a small smile on her lips. "Yeah, I guess. It's kind of nice, actually. Not having to think. Just following directions and letting someone else decide what looks good."
Her legs shift slightly, and she becomes aware of something. A coolness. A draft. She glances down, and her eyes go wide.
Her knees are spread apart, and the pink dress has ridden up so far that her underwear is completely visible. The black cotton is stark against the bright sheets, and she realizes with a jolt that she's been lying like this for the past several photos, completely exposed.
