Chapter 34 by SingingLark SingingLark

This appears dire, what can Liandra do?

First cheat

Kendra was so exhausted she slept quickly. Liandra felt torn about what she should do, but in the end she knew she had to be bold or see her beloved in great peril. She returned to the castle at once.

The reason why Sir Kodovar and Liandra had forged such a friendship was their common piety, Liandra had an inborn desire to help and please, Kodovar was a hot headed youngster whose only solace was the litany of the gods. His studies drifted them apart, but still Liandra felt sure she could reason with him. It also meant she knew where to find him.

Sir Kodovar always kept vigil before a great task, and it was true that night as well.

"Sir Kodovar?" She called from behind the kneeling man. He didn't turn at once, and neither did she expect him to. He would finish his prayer first.

"Princess Liandra." the princess wondered when did he get so tall, her eyes reached only the height of his chest. "my lady. You honor me with your visit". He was formal, but his jovial smile told her his true feelings.

"Sir Kodovar... I have just heard." She began unease, she didn't have a plan.

"Worry not, Liandra... she is my better, but I trust my faith will prevail"

"I cant help it...you are my oldest friend, Kodie, the idea that something can happen to you is..." She felt dirty for using their childhood memories to make him loose. And even if she loved Kendra and wished to see her thrive, she also didn't want to see her friend hurt. It was all very confusing.

Her indecision and fear showed, and the knight did something that would be quite unthinkable in normal circumstances. He went to her and embraced her, his strong and virile arms comforting her. He had a husky smell, overplayed by the incense that clung to his clothes. It was mildly offensive, but Liandra felt the world simpler in his arms.

"I don't want anything to happen to you" And it was true

"Nothing will happen to me. I trust the gods." She couldn't have possibly reached him, so he must have leaned over. But their lips met in a chaste, secret kiss. "I am sorry..." he started, when the brief moment passed, but the princess interrupted him "for what?" He tried to get away, but the lithe princess had her arms around his neck, and he lifted her body when he tried to stand. His arms wrapped around her waist, they looked at each other as if for the first time.

"I love you" he confessed, and Liandra answers "I know..." his kiss was clueless and he almost had a heart attack when her tongue entered his mouth. But he was a quick learner.

"We shouldn't do this here...Can you take me to your room Kodie?" He was flabbergast, but the princess kissed him awake. She could feel his erection brushing against her tight.

It didn't surprise her how spartan the room was. It was the bare minimum, a bed, a chest, a table, a chair... a holy book, his armor, his sword. And wrapped on his sword a faint blue scarp that she recognized.

"You kept that for all these years?" she had given it to him six years ago, when the squire enlisted on the grand melee to fight in her honor. He had received such a beating that day. "Nothing that I have is dearer to me, Li"

"I think it is about time we add a few more memories to your collection, Kodie" Liandra felt silly saying that, but the knight worshiped her every move, memorized her every word. She could do no wrong here.

Which memories?
