First Day on the Ship

As the Mermaid sails away you see the coast grow more distant, and you feel your stomach tingle in excitement for what's about to come.

Not much time passes since a large bald man approaches you.

"Hello, I assume you are John, right?" says the bald man.

"Yes" you reply.

"Ok, I'm the Jared, and I'm the first mate of the Mermaid. I have your first task." he said without much interest.
