Fine

I always knew there was something wrong with Ben.

People get embarrassed, but this is too much. Perhaps it's a mental illness, perhaps years of therapy would help him overcome it.

But why should he suffer years of torment when I have the means to end his suffering right now?

“Fine”, I relented. Still, I had to ask again. “Are you really sure that you want me to do that?”

Ben only looked at my expectantly.

And so I gave the order.

Ben would no longer feel embarrassment

And he would become confident.

Everything he ever wanted.

And so time moved on.

Ben quickly bounced back from his experience. In fact, to my surprise, he did indeed join the Wildcats as their Cheerleader. Thanks to his outgoing and fearless personality he became popular very fast.

I contemplating removing the orders on Ben and returning his personality to normal. But I just couldn't bring myself to it. Ben seemed genuinely happy. Even if that person really wasn't truly Ben anymore.

But perhaps he never was.
