Finding out

Walker bites her lower lip, looking nervous for the first time today. She was all business before when discussing your partnership, but this is personal and she's clearly uncomfortable.

"What did you... the hooker from last night. What did you do to her?" Walker asks.

"Let's just say I made her my ally."

"How?" Walker presses you. She doesn't know the full extent of the powers of your magic rings and you pause before you respond, thinking about whether to tell her.

"... I influenced her mind, to make her work for me," you finally say.

"Mind control?" Walker says, looking surprised. "Did you... I..."

"No, I haven't not used it on you."

"Why not? It would be much easier for you, wouldn't it?"

"It might, but I find that it's better to have people with free will. Mind control is like making a wish. You never know what you get."

Walker takes a while to process what you just said, and she seems satisfied with the answer. "So, you could go over to my neighbors and put their daughter under your control?"

"Yes. And she would have to tell the truth to me."

"Okay," Walker says. "I need to know if Jack and her ever..."

"Got it. I'll be right back," you say, standing up. With your magic rings, it will be an easy favor for Walker and earn you even more trust.

"Wait," Walker says, getting up from her seat too. It sounds like she has more to say.
