Before leaving the palace, you must find everything that could help you in your mission. Confusing speed with haste would not be useful at all. The queen mentionned some gold the intendant was supposed to give you. She insisted on its importance, which means you cannot reasonably leave without it. You quickly find the intendant's office and find him at his desk, frenetically sorting out scrolls as if it was a matter of life and ****.
