You decide it's best not to ask Rachel for anything at this point. You might be out of a job, but that doesn't mean you need to depend on her entirely. You think back to the job flyer at the grocery store. There's gotta be plenty of other places around town that are hiring too.

You play over scenarios in your head of your potential future with Rachel as you drift off to sleep...

Maybe this new arrangement could work out. She pays the bills and you take care of maintaining the home. After all, if the time ever comes when you have children then one of you should really stay home to care for them anyway.

Or perhaps a part time job is merely a chance to get back on your feet until you find something more permanent. With a full career you wouldn't be nearly as reliant on Rachel. But then again, letting her take care of everything feels safe.

Regardless of how the future plays out, it seems like you're definitely going to be dependent on her for the next few weeks in the very least.
