"First step is finding this guy," Jen said. "Watch this."

She pulled up her brother on her contact list and called him. The phone rang through the car's Bluetooth, and he picked up on the fifth ring.

"...hello?" He was clearly expecting another ass-chewing.

In a soft, syrupy voice, Jen replied. "Oh, Joey! Thank goodness I got you! Listen, I wanted to apologize for my behavior early. I was really rude to you, and you didn't deserve it."

There was a long pause. "What?"

"I hope that didn't upset you too much. I know you were just trying to help me. And I feel much better now!" She winked at Mark.

Joseph sounded concerned. "Hey Jen, are you ok?"

"Oh Joe, you are so sweet! But don't worry about me. I've been with my study buddy all morning, and he's been helping me so much with my studying! I think I've got a real shot at acing this exam!"

"Uh, ok. Well, I'd better let you get back to studying-"

She interrupted him, her voice rainbows and sunshine. "Oh, Joey, one more thing. Can you tell me where Grink is? I'd like to thank him personally."

Joseph suddenly sounded suspicious. "How about I give you his phone number and you call him and thank him?"

She giggled. "Ok, Joey, you caught me! I wanted to buy more of this great study **** for all my friends! Plus I thought I'd get you some fun stuff as a way of saying thank you."

The prospect of free weed and access to bimbos made short work of Joseph's reservations. "Awesome! Yeah, his house is at 1213 Linwood." He paused as he thought of something. "I'll let him know you're coming."

"Thanks so much, Joey! Byeee!" She ended the call and looked at Mark. They both burst into a fit of laughter.

"Holy shit," Mark said, wiping his eyes. "I can't believe he bought that."

"I just hope Grink is as big a dipshit as my brother." Jen said. "You may not even be done changing before we've got the stuff."

Mark stopped laughing. "Wait, I thought you were going in and I was stealing the stuff."

"Why would we do that? You're already two shots deep."

"Yeah, and you're not interested in lightweights. Besides, we should see what effect cannabis has without the added variable of ****."

"How do we know you won't change too?"

Mark smiled. "This is a good test. Can one person influence two people to change at once?"
