Find a way out of the city

"I understand, My Lady, in times like these, trust must be earned, and that takes time. So, I thank you for your lovely companionship and entertaining time." You see the tension in the young woman ease as she realizes that you are not going to fight her decision, it's not easy to leave her unprotected in this war zone, but she seems to be able to handle herself. Before she disappears, you have to humble yourself once again - navigating is so much easier on the back of a drake. "Before I go could you give me directions to the nearest exit of the city, preferably where we first met?" The smile on her face makes having to admit your limitations worth it.

"I'll tell you that much at least." She laughs easily. "Head back towards the tavern then turn right; you should see a road mostly intact. Take that south and you should make it there safely." She looks you over once again and then shrugs "unless you stumble into more trouble."

"Thanks for the directions and stay safe, my Lady. I don't believe those mercenaries from the tavern are common deserters; they seem to well informed and trained. By the grace of gods they'll leave you alone for a few days looking for the men we removed from the situation."

Reluctantly you turn away from Sandrine and her friend trusting they will be a little safer with the supplies from the tavern. With luck that group will waste a few days searching for the lost men and increase security on their hideout. Following Sandrine's directions you find the road easily, although her warning about trouble seems almost prophetic.

About halfway to the gate you see a small well-armed group of men surrounding a petite woman. You're about to move in to help when you realize its Alexia; those poor men don't know that their 'easy prey' is actually a highly trained warrior.

You had your fun in the city, so you decide to let Alexia play before returning to your encampment. Hopefully a fight like this will calm her down and you won't get yelled at for her mistake of trying to have a race through a warzone.
