Chapter 36 by Decadent Empire Decadent Empire

Where to next?

Find a contractor

With the administrator sorted out, you discuss the next steps with Agent Heron. "We need to find some contractor's to build the new wing. Do you have any in mind?" he asks as you walk out of the hospital.

Stroking your chin, you think out loud. "Well, there isn't really any single group that has the resources or manpower to make it happen in time. Maybe if we got the three biggest companies together, they could do it, but I've worked with them in the past, and they really don't like each other."

"We could order them to work together," Agent Heron suggests.

"We could try, and they would be **** to work together, but if we used ****, we would be hit with a lot of 'delays.' Supply shortages, broken equipment, we would have all of it."

"We could bring in an outside team."

"We could, but that would piss them off even more, and would make me a lot of enemies. In a town this size, that would makes things pretty difficult for me here."

He nods. Catering to breeders is part of his primary mission, so you know he won't ignore your concerns. "I'll set up a meeting with the owners of all three companies for later today. Hopefully we can think of some way to convicnce them to work together in the meantime." He shakes your hand, and departs, already on the phone to set up meetings.

A few hours later, you receive a text with the meeting place, the same diner where you met the Barkers. You arrive to find the same chef working the kitchen and the same cheerful brunette waiting tables. You spot Agent Heron sitting at a table with three annoyed looking men. The first is an older man in his sixties with white hair, Walter Foley of Foley's Construction. Next to him is a man in his forties with slick, black hair and a tightly trimmed mustache wearing a suit named Alberto Ramirez, the owner of The International Building Group or IBG. Despite the name and pomp, they were just as local as the other two companies. Finally, the last man, also in his forties, is Roland Barker, cousin to the Andrew Barker you know so well. He is a huge, bearded man, and he owns Barker and Sons Construction along with his two sons, George and Heath. He used to work for Alberto until they had a falling out and he started his own company. Now, they sit together, waiting to hear your proposal.

How do you plan on making them all work together?
